SOURCE: Water leaking from bottom right-rear near valve. Changed inside filter.

you might have a clogged drain in the bottom back of the freezer. When the freezer defrosts the water has no where to go and comes out the front.

Can the water filter housing be the cause of slow water when the filter is in place?

Even a new filter will reduce the flow some what. I think the pressure to the filter is low or restricted . that will cause a reduction in flow, no it should not leak, check on the seal.

Where is the water filter frs24wscb

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand you want to know where the water filter is located on your Frigidaire refrigerator, model# FRS24WSCB. The water filter is located in the top back right-hand corner. To change filter follow the instructions below:

It is not necessary to turn the water supply off to change the filter.

1. Set ice maker lever (wire signal arm) to the OFF (up) position.
2. Hold filter cup firmly, and unscrew counter clockwise. (Some water could leak out as you remove cup. This is normal.) Filter cartridge should come down with cup. If cartridge remains in housing, pull down gently, while twisting filter back and forth.
3. Empty cup of any substance.
4. The large o-ring that seals the filter system sets in the o-ring groove down inside the cup. Should the o-ring fall out during filter cartridge replacement, simply place it back in the groove prior to screwing the cup back in place. If the o-ring becomes damaged, you will need to order a new one from the Consumer Assistance Center.
5. Discard old filter cartridge.
6. Remove new filter cartridge from packaging, and install.
7. Place filter cartridge in cup. The end with the small o-ring should be up, out of the cup.
8. Screw cup, with filter, back onto housing. Do Not Use Wrench To Reinstall Cup. Filter cartridge will self-align as cup is tightened. Be sure cup is completely tightened with PureSource Plus Logo facing outward. Do Not Tighten Past Stop.
9. Set ice maker level on the ON (down) position.
10. Check for leaks. Open refrigerator door. Wipe any water drops from the filter cup. Run a glass of water. If there is a leak, unscrew filter cup, and reinsert the filter cartridge. Check placement of large O-ring. Reinstall filter cup, making certain it is tightened completely.
11. To condition filter system and purge air from water line, run several glasses of water through water dispenser. This will also assure that the purest water possible is stored in water tank.

I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

My Galaxy side by side refridgerator is leaking from the water filter system. When I removed the water filter the leak stopped. Do I need to replace the filter cartridge or is it something else?

Start with the cartridge. If the cartridge was frozen then you'll more than likely have to change the housing as well. This is only if the filter is on the inside of the machine. If its located underneath then change the filter and just check the lines that go to it by removing the kickpkate and taking a glance

Has Leaking noise very audible on hotwater line but no flood in the house or outside the house, and the water meter records unusually high. Three certified plumbers checked the house but could not find...

First, find out if you have a leak.
Turn off all water faucets inside and outside.
Record water meter register with camera.
Wait several hours.
Record water meter register again, and compare photos.
If you have a leak, contact city water department and report leak so bill can possibly be adjusted.
Ask city water department what they suggest.

If you had certified plumbers look at problem, it would be a guessing game for internet plumber to start listing things.

My guess would be crossover on single-handled faucet that runs the hot water into cold pipe that is filling the swimming pool that is leaking. But you might not have a swimming pool.

Another guess would be a leaking TP valve that drains directly into a sewer vent line.
But certainly the plumber checked the TP valve.

I have replaced my ice maker filter. Now when the ice maker comes on or we press tab for water, the box where the filter cartridge pushes in leaks water through 2 holes in top of refrigerator side.

either the filter isn't in correctly or when you changed it out you broke the filter holder.take out the filter and try reinstalling it,also look at the filter to see if it's damaged or try putting the old filter back in,if it leaks with both filters then i'd have to say the filter holder is broke,if it only leaks with the new filter then you could have a defective filter.try reinstalling it.good luck.

I replaced my Whirlpool Ultraease Undersink Filtration filter model WHEEDF and th Filter 1 of the pair of filters leaks. I have applied teflon tape to the threaded pin of the mounting unit and the leaks...

I would shut water off and relieve pressure. Remove filter houseing and inspect rubber gasket on bath sides, clean it off and clean inside of cap where gasket sets and on top of housing. Make sure there are no rough spot on either surface. If there are you can smooth them out by using fine grit sandpaper,no coarser then 120 grit. Wipe all surfaces clean and apply 5-6 wraps of teflon tape on threads on filter housing. Before you put gasket back in place you can put a light coating of petroleum jelly, vaseiline or similar,on both sides of gasket. wipe off excess. Reinstall filter and housing. tighten securely. Turn water back on and check for leaks. If it still leaks you can tighten a little more. If it still leaks I would replace gasket. Hope this helps. Thanks

I was changing my filter in the ge filtration system, and it says to turn off the water and press the red button. Then it says to unscrew the filter take the old one out and clean the filtrstion system...

The red button is a pressure relieve valve. If the system is leaking from the valve, try pushing the valve up from the underside of the cap where the valve is located. If this does not work the housing needs to be replaced. You do not have to replace this with a name brand like GE. All you need to do is make sure the housing that you are purchasing is the same size.
