Try pressing the auto button.
If you can't find one try the + button or
right arrow button, then each other button in turn, one should reset to automatic settings.
If the onscreen display (OSD) comes up see if you can find an auto option by pressing the + or right arrow key

your dvd is set to 480p. if it is a convertable dvd player set it to 1080i. the tv sets itsef to whatever the dvd player displays. if not all dvd is 480 to 720 p. blu ray will get you top notch 1080 display.

There is no service manual available for a Viewsonic. You must trouble shoot it from knowledge. If you need assistance after voltage checks then feel free to re-post.

you need to clean the vedio connector properly inside your tv , if you dont have good idea about electronic you need a technicien
