Looking for a manual to install a Summit BIM24SS ice maker

Not all the necessary hardware is provided for installation so it is necessary to hire a professional licensed plumber to complete the installation.
• Connect tubing (supplied with unit) to the nearest cold water source. Connect sufficient tubing to the unit to allow the appliance to be moved freely for cleaning and service. Also make sure that the tubing is not pinched or damaged during transportation.
• Position unit to allow free airflow through the front grill (see sketch 1). Wipe out inside of unit and ice bin
with a damp cloth.
Before Using Your Ice Maker
• Remove the exterior and interior packing.
• Check to be sure you have all of the following parts:
1 removable ice bin
1 plastic scoop
25 ft. hose
1 instruction manual
• Before connecting the ice maker to the power source, let it stand upright for approximately 2 hours. This will reduce the possibility of a malfunction in the cooling system from handling during transportation.
• Clean the interior surface with lukewarm water using a soft cloth.
Installation of Your Ice Maker
• This appliance is designed to be either free-standing or built-in (fully recessed). If free standing, the unit should have at least 4" of clearance at both sides, at the top and at the back to allow for adequate ventilation. If it is built-in, leave at least 3/16" at both sides, 1/16" at the top and 2" at the rear. Be sure that airflow under the appliance is not blocked.
• Place your ice maker on a floor that is strong enough to support the ice maker when it is fully loaded. (Remember that the unit will be significantly heavier once it is fully loaded.) To level your ice maker, adjust the leg at the front of the unit.
• Locate the ice maker away from direct sunlight and sources of heat (stove, heater, radiator, etc.). Direct sunlight may affect the acrylic coating and heat sources may increase electrical consumption. Extremely cold ambient temperatures may also cause the ice maker not to perform properly.
• Avoid locating the ice maker in moist areas. Too much moisture in the air will cause frost to form quickly on the evaporator requiring more frequent defrosting of the ice maker.
• Plug the ice maker into an exclusive, properly-installed grounded wall outlet. Do not under any circumstances cut or remove the third (ground) prong from the power cord. Any questions concerning power and or grounding should be directed toward a certified electrician or an authorized SUMMIT products service center.

How to install/replace Icemaker in top bottom fridge

Start by unplugging fridge. Take 1/4 inch nut drive ( sometimes phillips ) remove bottom screw from under ice maker. Next loosen top to screws mostly out. The screws are located in brackets near the ice tray behind the front cover. Ice maker has brakets that the top screws slide into. Lift the icemaker up and out off the screws. Next disconnect the quick connect that is on the back wall of the freezer. Some models are hard wired into the icebox. If this is like yours than disconnect the quick connect from the icemaker itself. Take icemaker out of freezer and connect quick connect into or from new ice maker. Slide the new icemaker onto screws and into place. Screw bottom screw in and than tighten the top two screws. Place ice maker arm down so it can make ice. Give it 24 hours to cycle before it starts producing ice. Most of the time icemaker starts making ice within a couple hours. Plug in fridge.

The ice box on the ice dispenser appears to be clogged so ice cannot be dispensed on either setting (chunk or crushed). How does one remove the ice box front to look inside?

Hello there,
For you to be able to remove the ice maker from the refrigerator, you will have to get a screwdriver and a work glove, then you follow the steps below:
  1. Pull the LG refrigerator away from the wall and unplug the electrical cord.
  2. Shut off the water supply valve to the ice maker by twisting the knob clockwise. The valve is built into the metal or plastic tube that feeds water to the ice maker at the back of the appliance.
  3. Open the freezer door and remove the ice bucket below the ice maker. Set the bucket in the sink for the ice to melt.
  4. Lift the white plastic housing off the ice maker and set aside.
  5. Remove the screws that connect the ice maker assembly to the inside back of the freezer, using a screwdriver and work gloves to protect your hands.
  6. Push up on the ice maker from below to release the mechanism.
  7. Disconnect the wire plug that connects the ice maker to the back of the freezer and remove the entire assembly.
  8. When you are through with what ever you want to do with the ice maker.
  9. Reconnect the LG refrigerator power cord and slide the appliance back to its original position.

Hope this helped. All the best Elect_Comp

My Frigidaire model SRF24ZRH ice maker needs to be replaced but power supply runs threw the back of the refrigerator, how do it remove and replace the ice maker?

There is a quci connect on the ice maker where the wires run along side of ice maker. Without the complete model number of fridge I can not see the wire harness. Usually it quick connects into another quick connect sometimes inside the frezzer wall that can be removed. Otherwise ir quick connects into the side of icemaker.

Ice maker not making ice

Check to see whether the ice maker has been turned off. Here's how to check. Look for a wire along the right side of the ice maker that looks a bit like a coat hanger. If this wire is in the raised position, the ice maker is turned off. On some units you simply lower the wire to the down position to turn the ice maker on.
On others, you lower a small red plastic lever to lower the wire. If the wire is in the proper position check the freezer temperature, it should be between 0-8 degrees Fahranheit. If it is warmer than 10-12 degrees, the ice maker may not produce any ice. Check your door seals and thermostat, repair/replace as necessary.

Connect ice maker

Almost all ice makers have a plug on them and the fridge has a corresponding plug. If you cannot find the plug in the Fridge - look in the area of the ice maker for a plastic plug in the wall of the fridge. If you've added this to the fridge after the fact then you may need to fish out the plug from the wall of the fridge.
