Question about Sony Grand WEGA KDF-55WF655 36" Rear Projection HDTV
Check it on a unused video input---if see reddish color area it is the optical light engine in the unit, a lot of this model had this issue--burn in optical engine lens.

It is definitely a bad optical block. Sony was offering an optical block replacement under warranty until June of this year, but it has ended now. Ballpark estimate is $700 to $1000 to have the optical block replaced.

Your light engine needs replaced. I have a tip at http://www.fixya.com/support/r4251975-replace_dlp_light_engine which explains the problem, how to fix it and where to get the parts. Let me know if you need more help.
