Samsung admire won't cut on but shows battery icon when plugged in, what's wrong?
I've tried pressing the power, back and volume down button at the same time, taking out the battery and putting it back in, using this "one click unbrick" program and even banging it on the wall. still nothing worked and it won't cut on, the only thing that shows is the samsung logo and then the battery icon when plugged in. The battery is fully charged also, so I don't know what's wrong, also do these phones have sim cards in them and how much would it cost to get it fixed if I have to take it in? This is my dads phone and he told me I can have it if I can get it to cut on, I've searched forums and even youtube videos and still nothing works. Am I doing something wrong?
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

You can first attempt to do a "soft reboot" by pulling the battery at the same time as the screen is flashing the logo as you stated. (Pulling the battery IE:remove battery with phone in 'ON' state)
If this does not solve your problem, a "hard reboot" might be your only other option, (short of bringing it into to a service center location for your cellular provider or sending it into to a service center via postal delivery).
To perform a hard reboot on the Samsung Galaxy Pro please follow the proceeding steps as they are listed:
Press & Hold The "Power/Lock Key" & "T/3" Key Of The Qwerty Keyboard At The Same Time Until The "Android system recovery " Menu Shows Up.
Use The "Volume Key" To Scroll Down & Select "wipe data/factory reset".
Press The "Home Key" To Proceed To The Next Confirmation Step.
Use The "Volume Key" Again To Scroll Down 7 Times & Select "Yes - delete all user data".
Press The "Home Key" To Perform Hard Reset. After 2 Or 3 Seconds It Will Show Data wipe Complete.
All User Data Will Be Removed And The Device Will Be Restored To Manufacture Default.
Press The "Home Key" To Reboot System Now.
This sounds like a common problem on these TVs. Try a factory reset:
1. Press and hold "Menu" and "Channel+" on the TV. (do not use the remote)
2. Using the other hand, press the Power button.
3. A small screen should appear in the top left part of the screen.
4. Using the remote, select "Memory Recall" and Enter.
5. Power off and reboot the TV and Computer.
6. Run channel auto-scan to regain the picture.
I have the 8gig Archos 70, the whole thing froze as described in other posts. The solution is not for the feint of heart though. Mine would do absolutely nothing. So what the heck, I opened it up (nothing to lose at this point). Messed about a bit. Read that when it "Bricks" like this there is nothing that can be done. If it is Bricked, something locks it in the memory and function. As long as the battery is connected, it will remain that way no matter what.
Solution. Cut the black power wire from the battery (there are three long wires red white and black), leave for 20 minute, and solder the wire back together and heat shrink the joint. Reassemble, plug in power cord and it should reboot...
My archos is about 3-4 years old, and is mounted to the wall in my kitchen for use as an internet radio
My wife's unit has the same issue - tried the firmware update (from Sony's website) and their suggested fix with no luck. Still works as a digital picture frame, but wrong date and stuck time kind of disappoint.
FYI - Suggested fix for stuck date/time:
Unplug unit. Remove backup battery. Leave for 30 seconds. Plug back in and then put battery back. Set date and time.
Didn't work for me, but maybe you'll have better luck.

I guess it depends on why your power jack was dameged at first. If the old power jack was replaced after any electric accidents, this current problem can be caused by your damaged motherboard. (After shock, the motherboard can still perform ok for a while. I've seen it.)
Or sometimes, rarely the battery can cause it. I don't know why but, that's what I've heard from laptop manufactuers. To find out, please, take out the battery and plug in AC power adapter and try it again.
my tablet did the same thing, all you have to do is make sure it is fully off, then you hold the power button for a short period of time, then you hold the volume button at the same time either up or down, (depending on which tablet you have) and wait until the android logo comes up. Then there are options, you are to choose ''wipe data factory reset button'' (you choose your options using the volume up/down button) wait maybe 30 seconds and then more options come up you choose ''reboot'' wait another 30 seconds, then turn it on it should work but if it doesn't work, take it back (if you still have the warrantee) and you could get a new one or the professional's fix it anyway hope this helps everyone. ;)
