Question about Bobcat Miller 225 Welder Generator 907209 Or 907210

Open Question

My 225 Bobcat welder will not crank. I can pull the fuel hose off and stick it over the carborator and it pumps fuel into the carborator and runs. But when I take it away it stops. Plug the Hose back up to the carborator and it won't stay running. I have pulled the top of the carb off and cleaned, needle valves working fine. I see that there is an electronic piece in the back of the carb with a wire to it. Is it possible this piece isn't working correctly. I need help. Is that a fuel shut off?

SOURCE: Bobcat 225 welder fuel pump

Hi Harry, I hate to not answer yet but which engine do you have? The Robin / Subaru engine or the Kohler engine? I can get you the service manuals but need to know which one to search for.

SOURCE: Why is my bobcat 225 not welding hot enough?

If all your settings are correct and still not hot enough probably your fuse F1 is open and need to replace. Check page 42 of the owner's manual for instructions.http://www.millerwelds.com/om/o4434q_mil.pdf

Hope this fix your problem.

SOURCE: have a 225 bobcat welder wont stay running can add fuel to carberator but if i stop sparing fuel in unit stops??

The fuel pump is one of the probable faults, or the needle valve in carb is stuck in closed position.

If the fuel hose is removed at carb, it should squirt gas as the engine is cranked over. If not, look in tank to see if the screen on the barb threaded into the tank has not clogged up with debris. If it is clean, replace fuel pump.

If it squrits gas- open up the carb and check to make sure the float is able to pull the needle valve down as well as the float level setting. When the bowl is exposed, look for sediment as well.

No gas coming to carb fuel filter good engine runs while sraying gas in carb

Onan engine? If so, check your fuel pump. It will be located on the engine cowling. You'll see 2 fuel lines, one on top and one on bottom. These are the fuel in/out lines. The line you WON'T see is the vacuum pulse line that hooks to the rear of the pump assembly behind the cowling. This line operates the pump via a vacuum pulse created by the engine.
You can remove the pump mounting screws and the pump will pull away from the cowling a short distance exposing the vacuum pulse line. Make sure it's attached and not dry rotted. If the engine has set up for any extended period, there's a good chance the pump gaskets are "glued" to the pump chambers (internally) by bad gas and not allowing the vacuum to pump the fuel. Onan has (when I was working on them) kits for these fuel pumps and I've installed them successfully, but it might prove to be somewhat tedious if you're not well versed in kits of this sort or not extremely mechanically inclined. But if memory serves, a new pump was priced within reason. Good luck.

Is ther a fuel shut off valve on bobcat 225 welder

No shut off unless someone installed it- a good idea if ithas running gear. Unit has an electric fuel pump. Check to make sure wiring to it is in good condition and not brittle from heat. When in start position, there should be 12 volts to pump- it bypasses the oil pressure switch until key is moved to run position.

Check the fuse to the fuel pump to see if it has not fatigue failed- it will look okay but no continuity.

If fues is good, then next:
The Oil pressure switch is in the circuit to shut off fuel It may be defective, or fuel pump may be defective. Check for continuity with a full oil level first. If you do not get about 5 ohms or less continuity, replace switch.

Bobcat 225 does not produce ac current 110 or 220?

Probably you need to act the braker, put the idle at max (pull throtle) and let it run for a minute, that will reset the braker.
