Question about Televison & Video
Black/white lines on the screen instead of picture
The video output section to your TV is faulty. Visit the site named 'Electro-help' for more details. Click this link. View it in "Timeslide" or "Flipcard" option, which can be selected from the drop down box menu by the [Sidebar] tag, at the top left corner of the display window. It will make search easy. There are more than 1100 posts to different brand TVs now. Pull up older posts there

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: white line
This is cauced by a collaspe of the vertical output circuit. Normally a relatively easy/quick fix by a skilled repair tech. If you have a nice quality set that is less than 7 years old, it might be worth fixing, otherwise, you might want to consider getting a new one.
Give a call to a local service shop and tell them what TV you have and the problem and see what they provide for an estimate to repair, it might be worth doing and it might make your decision easier to go buy a new one.

this is a frame fault
the fact that you can still see the line when the tv is off is because you have been watching with the line and it has burnt into the crt.
time to buy a new tv
