I think my speakers are blown on my sony 53 inch rear projection tv can I run the sound through my home theatre and bypass the blown speakers?

check your audio menu on your tv. mine can turn off the speakers and sends the audio signal out the rca's when the speakers are off.

Brand new speakers sound blown

it sounds like your problem is bad speakers. I dont think you are under powered. You probley need to take these speaker back if possible. sometimes you will get a faulty speaker, where the wire is glued to cone, the wires are probley not making a good connection. from factory they do screw up. I have had the same problem, it is not noticable by the eye but it does happen. good luck .

You may have "Blown" you speaker Amp. It may have fuses, but if that case, ONLY one channel would have blown? I think it is time to get a "Quote" from a reliable service center/man

Mission speakers...i think i've blown one of them...

I'm guessing you mean one of the bass drivers (as standmount or floorstanding speakers don't have subs as such). Place your hand lightly against the driver when playing some music at normal volume, there should be some vibration (this increases the louder you play). If there's no vibration, you're probably right.

Contact Mission, who can send you a new driver, contact a Mission dealer to see how much it'll cost to go through the dealer network. I'd recommend going down the latter route if you are unsure of what to do yourself.

Just noticed you posted this in March, in which case, I hope you got it fixed (or are enjoying your new pair instead!).
