It wont pick up using the wand

There might be a few things you can try.
First, does the vacuum have a dial or control to turn the suction to the wand? If so, make sure you've set or turned this so that the wand suction is activated.
Second, most wands have a suction control vent. If this has been uncovered, the suction will not work efficiently. Look near the area where the wand connects to the vacuum and see if you can locate the suction control vent. There should be a plastic partial ring that can be moved to cover or uncover the hole.
I hope this helps. If so, please come back and rate my solution!

No suction for Kenmore upright vacuum

You have not stated which model vacuum you have. Bipass vacuum have a bipass compartment which is under drive unit. Make sure there are no cracks around housing as this is where you vacuume is created. In order to have vacuum you must have airflow, in assences suction. No air flow, no suction. If the airflow is deverted somehow suction will stop. Your filter, your bag are all sources of air flow. Clog either and you lose suction. Start with loss of air, being cracks in housing, bag or filter

Extreme vaccum has no suction.

Make sure you put the dirt cone back in the bucket to create the tight seal. You will have no suction without the dirt cone.

Only suction to attachments

Something is stuck in the throat of the floor head, between the brushes that turn, and where the hose connects at one side (usually right hand side) of the floor head.

Reply back what you find.

Suction loss when handle is tipped back to clean carpet

can any one help,
Our Dyson Animal vacuum has plenty of suction when it is upright and the attachments are being used off the hose, but when the handle is tipped back to begin cleaning carpets the beater head is getting no suction. As the handle is being tipped back you can hear what sounds like a flapper valve in the body of the vacuum opening and then all the suction just goes away.

Lost suction

Hi.

Remove the sole plate turn the 3 plastic screws to unlock & lift off.

Now remove the blockages that have accumilated from the oppening of short clear hose.
Check you can turn brush roller & check belt.

Now reassemble switch on pull handle back & look under machine is brush spinning ?

If not check the knob on side of machine is in drive (D) position.

Suction switch

Leave the thing off for about 30 mins, let it cool. Take that time to clean out all of pieces. Its a pretty simple machine, but has many suction points. Mine killed around Christmas time. Flippin pine needles got caught everywhere, clogged the whole works and it just died. Though she was toast, but its back in action now. I really like this vacuum for how much I paid for it.
