Try updating the firmware of your printer. Just go to http://bit.ly/ghfW8H to download the firmware update.

If the firmware update doesn't help, perform a maintenance on the cartridges. Do to that, on the control panel of your printer, press on Setup > Maintenance > Deep Clean Printhead.

Also, make sure to use genuine Lexmark cartridges.

If the steps above doesn't help, the printhead might need to be replaced. Please contact our tech support team if your printer is still under warranty. If not, you can purchase a printhead here: http://bit.ly/IZYhWo

    Sorry, provided the wrong steps for the Deep Clean Printhead. Here are the correct steps: press on the Ink Levels > More Options > Deep Clean Printhead.

    Try to unplug the power adapter from the printer.

    Wait at least 10 seconds before replugging the adapter to the printer. This will give enough time for the printer to reset itself. Also, make sure the power cord is plugged in straight to the power outlet in the wall, bypass any power surge devices.
    If the problem continues, it could be a faulty power adapter issue. Please contact Lexmark technical support for additonal assistance.

      I have the same problem with my S605!! Although it is 18 months old.
      Reading various blogs on the internet, this seems to be a common problem. Other users reporting it to Lexmark seem to get replacement printheads, sometimes more than one. Others get their machine replaced!
      After having read all these negative reports my advice to you is to return it to your vendor and ask for it to be replaced with another machine from a different manufacturer.
      Lexmark machines seem to have a constant ongoing problem with their printheads (for years).
      Sorry to be so negative but you and I have bought ourselves a load of trouble.

      Lexmark 605 printer not downloadable to toshiba laptop

      It would help if you placed the Operating System of your computer. Anyway, you can find all of the drivers for your Lexmark S605 at www.lexmark.com.

      Make sure to indicate if it's a 32bit or 64bit. Most probably you have a 64bit system.

      If you have the installation disc that came with your printer, simply insert it into your computer's hard drive to install the driver. The application will also show a comprehensive guide on how to setup the printer itself. Please follow the instructions on your computer screen.
      If you don't have the disc, you can download the Lexmark Interact S605 Driver from the Lexmark website.
