Test your PSU power supply unit or replace it if your power supply units fan is not working your PSU is faulty

http://pcsupport.about.com/od/toolsofthetrade/f/powersupplytest.htm

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle of restarting or to shutdown or fail to detect/ boot up a computer hard drive

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive power and data cables IDE SATA

the leads from your MOTHERBOARD TO YOUR HARD DRIVE make sure they have a secure dust free connections and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty

make sure all leads that are attached to your dvd\cd floppy drives have secure connections and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty

computers need power and data to travel through every working device to continue its cycle and have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error

even something as small as a faulty electrical or fan lead can cause you problems

motherboard and a hard drive any leads between them will fail before your motherboard or your hard drive if its a flat ribbon 40 pin type IDE replace it this will be the first to fail

check all electrical power input and extensions make sure they are securely seated even the cd/dvd floppy drives need to have current go through make sure these drives are working

also check the Cmos battery and computer RAM modules make sure they are securely seated with no dust built up or in the sockets on some motherboards cmos batteries are soldered in

check you CPU central processing unit make sure its securely seated and has thermal paste it might be getting to hot the thermal paste will help disperse the heat

Thermal compound is a sticky paste that is placed directly onto the CPU.

Allowing for a more direct heat transfer between the CPU and HEAT SINK and preventing air gaps from forming between the CPU and heat sink.

hope this helps

Have you tried replacing the fuse in the plug top? Please make sure you replace with the correct rated fuse, too big and you can destroy your dryer, too small and it just wont work.

Kenmore 89722 dryer

check the micro switch on the door . worn door hinges/broken door hinges will not activate the micro switch and so the unit will not turn on as it thinks that the door is still open

Where the power cord goes into the washer is a small box called a line filter. It is there to protect the electronics in the control. It might be that the line voltage filter has failed. Remove the rear panel on the control to access it. Calypso Service Manual

Fl code on kenmore calypso cannot clear

this is the fl code on a whirlpool calypso which is probably the same since kenmore is just a name,, whirlpool built the machine if u didnt know kenmore doesnt build anything they just put their name on things... (FL is a flood conditon.) FL flashes if any overfill condition occurs. This condition occurs when excessive water in the tub causes the overfill switch to trip. The control must realize that the trip was due to an overfill condition instead of a suds lack condition in order for FL to be displayed

With an overfill condition, the beeper repeats a warning every 10 seconds with no time-out. The pump is cycled in drain mode for 30 seconds on, 30 seconds off until the overfill switch resets or power is discontinued to the unit.

Press STOP/CANCEL to clear the display.

My calypso washer does not start none of the buttoms turn on?? I check the plug looks fine and i tried it in different outlets as well? Please help

Have you tried other appliances in the same outlets ?? if outlets are fine, fuse in plug is fine, then you have a problem with the machine, most likely problem is with the programer, you could try holding in the on/off button and cancel button, failing this, its an engineers visit.

We went camping for 2 days came home and the calypso washing machine won't start. We ran a load the day we left with no problems. The outlet works fine, we even tried plugging it into another outlet just...

The same happened with my Sears Calypso machine. The common problem is the front display panel. If you are able to find one at a very good price, post it here.

Whirlpool Calypso top load washing machine. No warning... no power. no breakers tripped! Outlest tested fine with another appliance.

It appears your timer/main controller/CCU has failed in this instance.

For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...

FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.

PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.

If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.

Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.

If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.

Thanks for using FixYa - a 4 THUMBS rating is appreciated for answering your FREE question
