Thanks for the feedback. The fan/remote are brand new and the connections are intact and the batteries are brand new. The remote light activates but won't operate the fan.

Check the remote control for its infrared emission. Check its battery contacts for any rust or dust. Check it with fresh batteries.

SOURCE: my emerson remote will only work sometimes

Try fixing your remote controller.
Take off the battery, open the back of your remote, lift the circuit board, clean the green painted part of the circuit board, with cotton balls slightly damp with rubbing alcohol as well as the black thingy behind your remote pad, let it dry put it back together, replace with a new battery and try if it works.

SOURCE: Emerson Jumbo universal remote code search feature does not work

The Learn feature on this remote worked well for me. It takes a little time because you have to teach it the code for each button but it worked well for my cable remote, which I had never been able to get any universal remote to work with.

Because it's a wall remote. Remotes will work fan & light with one hot wire. You should have a receiver in the canopy of the fan.

Fan on the ceiling fan works, light does not, it is an Emerson unit wall switch only not remote control

Try pulling the chain once and then try the wall control. Is it a wall REMOTE or dual control? Do you have the number of the wall control?

Lights won't work on Harbor Breeze ceiling fan

Ceiling fans operated with remote controls, pull chains, and/or wall switches tend to get confused and just fail. You can try disconnecting power at the source and, while pausing briefly, remove batteries from the remote and push all buttons to eliminate the "stuck button" cause. Then, reconnect power and try various combinations of controls until something works or you give up in frustration.

The light works but the fan won't work

Was it an add-on light? If so, pull the light switch once and try the remote again. If not, you probably need a new receiver.

Unfortunately, Mark it's really not as simple as it sounds, to connect the wires properly. Because of that third red traveler wire for the 3-way switch. Actually, ceiling fans don't work well, when a 3-way switch is involved, because it was designed only for lighting convenience. When the fan is turned on, the other ceiling lights will start to glow, whether they are ON or not..

You would be much better served if you can locate another line to come off of and wire to that. Of course,y you won't have the convenience of a wall switch to operate it. But, that's what the pull chains on the fan are for.

Hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Fan with remote won't work with wall switch. I

I just recently purchased a hunter ceiling fan w/light and remote. Had it installed and wall switch would not work, only remote. I contacted Hunter company directly about this problem and I was told that they redesigned their fans with remotes so that only the remote works for turning off power to fan. The person who made that made that BRILLIANT change should be fired. So to those of you who own a newer hunter an product with a remote ne your wall switch will not work tat s te reason why.
