Try a "Cold-Start",Remove all media, DVD, CD,

USB..etc., Remove AC plug, Remove Battery,

Hold down on/off button for 10 seconds,

Replace battery, Plug into AC outlet,Push

on/off button and Start normally.
If that fails reboot while tapping F-8 repeatedly while the computer boots. If no response you could have a hardware issue requiring a qualified tech.

Hve you tried to enter into the "Boot Menu" at pre-boot/start up? Do you get a ore-boot screen? By repeatedly tapping the right F key, I don't know the Make,Model or OS of your machine, you can enter into BOOT MENU and select HDD. I am probably giving you suggestion that you have tried, but with limited info. No HDD activity at all, no HDD light blinking? You have checked the HDD for connection issues unplug AC open PC remove power cable and ribbon cable to the HDD and reseat? You can remove the HDD and test it using a Adapter, Mine is a ULTRA 2.0 to IDE?SATA Cable Adapter. Have you removed the CMOS button battery on the motherboard and checked voltage? Can you get to BIOS? with a F key?

A pre boot try repeatedly tapping "esc", F-1, F-2, F-8, F-10, F-11. Re-Boot and try a different but only one at a time, For example Boot and repeatedly tap esc, shut down, start again, repeatedly tap F-1 and so on.

SOURCE: Evo 610c won't turn on

Hi Mukhtar
I had a similar problem like yours and the same laptop. I managed to find the solution. It was the DC-DC converter board in it. Cost me 10$ to fix it.

SOURCE: Laptop won't boot (display problems)

If the diagnostics displays on the LCD screen but you get no display when Windows starts to load, it sounds like you have a video software driver problem. Try tapping the F8 key when you power on your laptop and boot in Safe mode. If it works in safe mode then you need to check you driver. You can also try connecting the laptop to an eternal monitor and see what happens.

SOURCE: dell latitude d820. press power button. no

This may be a really stupid question, but you could have overlooked it... Are you sure the power cable is attached to the laptop correctly? It seems like it's just short of power.

Hp p6530z desktop will not boot

It could be the monitor. Try a different monitor. Here's some tricks I would try...
1. Verify the monitor's power cord is plugged firmly into the wall outlet and the back of the monitor.
2. Verify the monitor cable is firmly connected to the computer and the monitor.
3. Verify that you have turned the monitor power switch on.
4. If the power light on the monitor is not on, test the wall outlet (plug in a light or something you know works).
5. If the power light on the monitor is not on, try a different power cord.
6. If the power light is on and yellow or orange or flashing, but nothing displays, or the display is incorrect, borrow a monitor from a friend. If that works, your monitor probably needs replaced.
7. Also, you could try your display on a friend's computer. If it doesn't work, your monitor probably needs replaced. If it works properly on your friends computer, the problem may be with your computers video output port, motherboard video chip (or video card, if you have one), or drivers.

Good luck.

Nothing displays on the monitor when I turn on the computer

is there power to the monitor? is the monitor in standby(yellow light on monitor)? is the monitor on (green light on monitor)? how is the monitor connected to the computer, VGA (square fat cable, the end may be blue) or HDMI cable? When you turn on the computer is the power light on and HDD light flashing / showing activity? this would indicate that the computer is booting up. If you have power light and activity on the computer, I would unplug the data cable to the monitor. If the monitor is plugged in, i would press the power button to try and turn on the monitor / take it out of standby. If the monitor is ok you should see a message like "no signal" or "no input". This would tell you that the monitor is fine, but you may have a problem with the video card or video port on the motherboard. If you have no activity light on the on the computer, you may have a problem with the OS not booting up. You really didn't provide much detail on what has been done, but this is how I troubleshoot out in the field when working on something like this.

Desktop: Gateway LX6810-01 PC will not power on. When I hit the Power button on the tower, a long continuous BEEP comes on and nothing appears on the monitor. After the BEEP, the On light (on tower)...

Thank you for using FixYa

I would try shutting down the computer in the normal way, and turning off the monitor.
Boot up and turn the monitor back on.
If it still doesn't work, then I would check the cables and power plugs and wall plugs.
Check the mouse and keyboard cable and any other cables plugged into the computer.
The next step requires a seperate monitor or laptop.
Try unplugging the monitor and pluging in another monitor. Most laptops have a common
VGA adaptor jack or even an Svideo jack.
If the other monitor does not work, Then take to a qualified technician for repair.
It could be your power supply in the computer or video controller.

I hope this was useful and please comment if this was helpful to you.

LCD Monitor - green power light blinking - nothing on monitor

Carol,
It sounds like your computer is putting the monitor in power save or sleep mode, and the monitor doesn't respond appropriately. The monitor might be faulty, or overheating. Make sure there is adequate ventilation around the monitor, and that it is clean and free from dust around the vents on the case.

Another thing to try is to check your computer's screen saver and power saving settings. Try turning off the "turn off monitor after [interval]" setting and see if the monitor still shuts off after several hours.

Good luck, hope this helps.
