Try a "Cold-Start", Remove AC plug, Remove Battery, Hold down on/off button for 10 seconds, Replace battery, Plug inti AC outlet,Push on/off button and Start normally. If that fails, Re boot while tapping F-8 to view options. At boot try esc or F-2. I don't know your Make ,Model, or OS? You didn't give much info so it's hard to make a informed suggestion. Did you do a install or upgrade your OS?

Your machine is obviously not "seeing" your HDD's OS. If you do not have a Boot Disk or a Factory recovery disk you can download a Windows Repair disk ISO, if I new what OS you are using. If you supply your ACER model and OS I can better assist you.

Remove any media from the machine, DVD,CD, USBs etc, before you try any repair.

You will nedd a 2GB or larger "Thumb Drive" to download the ISO program to, If your machine ID's the drive, after getting to the point where it says "Press any Key" It should run the Repair disk/program loaded on the USB, I hope.

Reboot and start tapping F-12 repeatedly when you push the on/off button, we are trying to get to the Boot Menu to force it to load from th USB, when you get to boot menu highlight boot from USB device, that will point the computer in the right direction. At boot you may see a balck screen with a blinking cursor in the top left, tap any key A-Z.

  • jeremy Nov 07, 2012

try that, and it goes back the screen insert boot disk and hit any key... and it say media test failure, check cable

  • max carson
    max carson Nov 08, 2012

Do you have a Repair Disk? Do you have windows 7, 32 or 64? You can download a repair disk online. I don't know your OS?

  • max carson
    max carson Nov 08, 2012

Try Cold Start follow the procedure to the letter, when you push the on/off button to on , Start tapping the "esc" key quickly moving through the F keys one after another , as in, TURN MACHINE ON, FIRST, TAP THE esc, moving right to F-1, F-2 all the way to F12. One after another. What we are trying to do is FORCE the machine to respond to any input. If it does let me know. Or try to Boot from HDD, if that option is available. REPEAT PROCESS TO GET A RESPONSE.

  • max carson
    max carson Nov 08, 2012

IF YOU GET A RESPONSE TO ENTER RESTORE/RECOVERY, ENTER RESTORE/ RECOVERY.

  • jeremy Nov 08, 2012

I have i download repaier disk to usb flash drive. idownload windows 7 . 32

  • jeremy Nov 08, 2012

it still goes to the same screen as before. enter boot disk

  • max carson
    max carson Nov 08, 2012

Did you do a Cold Start before EVERY attempt to repair? Remove the battery during these repair procedures that will remove power FULLY every time you unplud the machine from the AC outlet. When you push the on/off button to ON start tapping repeatedly if no response try alt esc, F-1 ,F2, through F12 Quickly at PRE-BOOT.

  • max carson
    max carson Nov 08, 2012

First alt and F10, tap both at the same time, we are trying to force a response from the machine, any respone at this point.

  • jeremy Nov 08, 2012

tryed all of that nothing alt f10 nothing to goes to screen saying exiting pxe rom no bootale devive insert disk and press any key

  • max carson
    max carson Nov 08, 2012

When you press any key? At boot or pre boot, do toy get a QUICK black screen with a whit cursor in the top left corner? If so tap any key on the keyboard. Obviously we are not getting the MBR on the HDD. Can you test the HDD on another machine or go to a Computer store. I have a ULTRA USB to 2.0 IDE/SATA Adaptor Cable to test HDDs. That said, it could be a HHD problem, can you remove the HDD and Memory mods. and re-seat both?

  • max carson
    max carson Nov 08, 2012

You have verified the downloaded WINDOWS REPAIR DISK is readable, You can insert it in a working machine of the same OS and see if it Auto Loads, POPS UP on the desktop asking what to do, as in RUN etc.

  • max carson
    max carson Nov 08, 2012

Refresh my memory, You have Windows 7 32 bit? Let me know the download must be your EXACT OS. Or it will not work.

  • jeremy Nov 08, 2012

put in a new wd scorpio blue hard drive cause the one it came with was shoot. its 500gb/go and sata 8mb mo cache. doesnt have any thing on hard drive why wont windows go on it then

    max carson Nov 08, 2012

Do you have a Windows OS disk? A copy download or purchased? You can download a copy from here:http://www.mydigitallife.info/download-w... It's a ISO that must be burned to a DVD, USB The program is some where around 3GB, REMBER this copy does not come with a PRODUCT KEY CODE that has to be purchased.

SOURCE: when I turn on my acer 5115 it says no bootable

it is possible that there is a mistake in somewhere in BIOS. when booting go to BIOS, and look for booting devices. As a primary booting device should be your HDD, or ODD first and HDD second.
apply these changes and see if the problem is fixed.
if it isn't, it is very likely that your HDD is not working anymore

SOURCE: for Acer Aspire One Net

Your netbook is trying to boot from your Lan/Ethernet connection since It can find no working hard drive to boot from. This usually means that your hard drive has failed.
Also remember that your netbook will try to boot from other drive types including your SD card, USB Memory Stick and even a Magic Jack if you have one inserted in the flash memory slot or USB slot while rebooting the PC.
Many people have mistakenly assumed that their Netbook is messed up because they forget to remove all flash and memory sticks before rebooting.

SOURCE: i have a acer laptop

Its either 1 of 2 problems you will have to check to see if your hard drive has fallen out of place by un-doing the screws thats holding the hard drive cover in place to check if its in tact then your hard drive has developed a fault and will need to be replaced, if your notebook is still in warranty i would recommend contacting acer to have them replace it for you, if its not in warranty then you will have to buy a new hard drive and softload it using the key you have on the back of your system.
When it says no bootable devices it means that your notebook did not detect your hard drive to boot up from, instead its asking you to put it back in or put in your operating system cd to boot from that, if you need further assistance please ask and rate me Kronoguy

Aspire one keep saying no bootable device insert boot disk and press any key and I don't have a disk slot

You hard drive is missing from the system. Or, just does not recognize it. The obvious - Remove any USB devices like drives and any media from disc player. Its trying to load, but can't find bootable hard drive, CD, or USB... Remove the hard drive and reseat (reconnect). Check BIOS by pressing an F key during boot. Look on the screen for correct Function key. Might be F2 key. Verify BIOS recognizes the drive. It must be listed! There is no going forward if it's not. Check boot order and make internal hard drive first. Save and restart.

It keeps tellin me no bootable device-- insert boot disk and press any key... i also dont have a disk drive all i have is a ubs flash drive spot

First - re-seat the hard disk and reboot the computer. If the computer does not boot up then reboot and go into the BIOS configuration to see if the BIOS detects the hard drive. If it doesn't detect the hard drive then it could be faulty.
Then the hard drive needs to be replaced in the computer/laptop, Windows installed and the computer or laptop's device drivers plus your programs etc. to get a functioning computer/laptop again.

My acer aspire 4810t says no bootable device

enter BIOS - you will see a mesage when you first turn on laptop tellign you to press a key to enter setup. Do this and make sure HDD is listed. if it is, you might have todo a recovery.

Turn on laptop, then immediatly press ALT + F10 keep finger on ALT and press F10 a few times, this will start the recovery process. some ask if you want to re-install windows or full factory reset. Windows install will only repair it - full factory reset will delete any data you have! so be careful
