Question about JVC Everio GZ-HM50 Camcorder
All of my videos have been saved on my PNY 64GB SD card that I use in my JVC Everio GZ-HM50 camcorder. However, whenever I try to transfer onto my computer, I get the following message: "The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer." (I am on a Mac and in the past I could open up iMovie and the files would download there.) When I go on a Windows computer, it tells me I need to reformat the card. When I view the videos on the SD card on my camcorder, they play fine! What's going on here? How can I fix this problem without losing all my videos? I am able to download a video I saved to the hard drive of the camcorder itself to my computer, but it says I have zero vids on my SD card (and that's not true, I can view them on the camcorder!) :( Please help!

SOURCE: hard drive is full on
Welcome to Fixya
Sounds like the harddrive is giving you the problem. Are you seeing any error message on the screen of the camcorder? Try to plug in the SD card to your computer (if the computer has SD card slot) and see if the computer can detect the SD card. You can format the card from there if the computer was able to detect it. Insert it back to your camcorder after formatting and see the result.
Thank you for using Fixya!
