Question about Texas Instruments Ti Nspire Cx Cas Graph Calc Tch N3cas/C

Why does the TI-nspire not give complete graphs of cube root and other franctional power functions?

Since upgrading to the latest version of the CX OS, I can no longer graph functions like the cube root and have it display both branches.

So, I switched it to real mode from rectangular and no longer had the problem. That should not matter, nor should it fix the issue, but it did. And no, I had not restricted the domain or any other such thing, also, as this was the version running on my laptop, low battery was not an issue either. Thank you for the feedback. :)

I do not see why it would do that. Maybe you restricted the domain to positive values of the independent variable.
Anyway, my CX CAS has the latest OS version and it draws cube root for positive and negative values of x.
By the way the cube root is made up of one branch only, not 2 like the square root.
Here is a screen capture.

SOURCE: Graphing radical functions

I have a TI-89 Titanium and I have experienced the same problem. HERE IS HOW TO FIX IT:

Goto " MODE " and scroll down the options until you get to
" COMPLEX FORMAT " change that option to " RECTANGULAR " and press ENTER until you exit out of the " MODE " screen. (very important that you press ' enter ' until you exit because if you don't, it will not save your changes. )

According to your problem, first check the battery status or replace the battery. It may occur for battery. You need a software and firmware update for this calculator. Reinstallation of software and an update of firmware will solve your problem.

Ti-Nspire gives me coordinates in radians when my mode is set to degrees.

That is a round-about way to solve cos(x)=0.543 by graphing. Use the inverse function of the cosine arccos or cos^-1
If cos(x)=0.543 then x=arccos(0.543)
To graph a trigonometric function it is more natural to use the radian as the unit. However in geometry it is more common to use the degree. To solve an equation like x=arccos(0.543) where you want the answer to be degree, change the document settings to make the default angle unit the degree.

Make the graphing angle unit the degree and set that as default by selecting Make Default and press Enter.

How to get the ti nspire cx to give square root answers

You can not achieve this with the Ti-nspire cx. Only the CAS version will give the square root form. On the CAS there is an option in the settings called "EXACT" under calculation mode. The cx does not have this mode.
