Question about Televison & Video
Auto-Search didn't work. There were several instances where this method got the TV to turn off, but never worked turning it back on. Are there more 3-digit codes I can try?

SOURCE: need to program my precision tv with a universal remote; problem is : the tv won't turn manually for me to do code search. it worked with the precision remote, but that is broken. need to know how
If the indicator is on, the TV is on; if the indicator is off, the TV is off. If this is not happening, there may be something wrong with the switch or possibly some internal circuit that controls power, e.g., a relay.

SOURCE: codes wont work on sanyo tv
Visit www.jascoproducts.com and go to their Support tab for a code list and generic instructions on most of their remotes. They have come out with a new line recently that have 4-digit codes. Manually turn on the device to be controlled Press and hold the CODE SEARCH button until the red indicator stays on, then release the button Press and quickly release the device button (TV, VCR, etc). The red light blinks once. Point the remote at the device to be controlled and press the ON/OFF button (up to 300 times) until the device to be turns off. The red indicator blinks off with each button press. Once the device turns off, press the ENTER button to install the code. If after 300 tries the remote does not turn off the device, chances are there is no code in this remote for the device you are trying to use.

Try the code settings for Funai; they build a lot of store-brand items.
You may not have all functions but normally you can find a code that will give you control of Power on/off, channels and volume.

SOURCE: While setting up the Crest
OKAY TRY THIS..
DO STEPS 1-3 AGAIN AND ONCE IT TURNS OFF KEEP CLICKING THE CURSOR UP A COUPLE TIMES.
THEN START CLICKING THE CURSOR DOWN SLOWLY TELL THE TV TURNS BACK ON AND ONCE IT CLICKS BACK ON HIT THE TV BUTTON ON THE TOP OF THE REMOTE ..
IF THE LIGHT BLINKS TWO OR THREE TIMES MORE THEN LIKELY YOU'VE PROGRAMED IT =)
AND NOW KICK BACK RELAX AND ENJOY A COLD BEER FOR THE BOTH OF US =)

you are using a universal do not expect it to even if it programs to
have all the functions you need or want or had with the original remote.
Universal remotes are far from UNIVERSAL.
best argument for an original remote is even if it programs it will
just not have all the features needed or wanted that the original had.
Hope this clears things up a little.
