Since it is Desktop PC and if you have active warranty then Dell Tech Support can check and maybe send a Technician out to fix it. That would be better to avoid any other onto ward issues.

Error code ofoo.075d

The hard drive is failing and must be replaced. If you run CHKDSK you may think it is fixed but really it isn't!
If you're under warranty, call Dell and request a pre-imaged replacement drive. Report the error code.
If you're out of warranty, any 2.5" 9.5 mm SATA notebook drive can be used to replace your failing unit.

It should still be under warranty at 6 months old.
If you attempt to repair yourself, you will void the warranty.
Talk to Dell before you do anything.

With Dell, as long as you are the registered owner of the machine, they will honor the warranty. If you haven't registered the machine into your name yet, follow the link bellow. It's simple and takes about two minutes. Then you can contact Dell support about your warranty and fixing the machine.

At an auction sale I bought a new Dell laptop Inspiron1525 Core2 Duo T 7250 which has a three year Dell Warranty. I intend to give it to my Grandson in Australia. It has Intel 3945WLAN Mini-card EUR. Will...

No it not obsolete, it's a rather new machine to the market. Well I guess you could say as obsolete as anything else on the market, since most items are already considered obsolete just as soon as they hit the market. The laptop will work fine in Australia. As far as the warranty goes, I'm not sure as to it's coverage in Australia. As long as you register ownership through Dell's support site, he will definitely be able to get the tech support the warranty offers, but the hardware warranty is iffy. Dell is better than most, but their hardware warranties are still on a limited plan and like most they do give a little run around on getting it serviced, especially for major hardware issues. The Inspiron 1525 is a very good machine, and I wouldn't worry too much, if taken care of, this machine will most likely last for years with no major issues, long past the warranty anyway.
