Open Question

Where to buy o-ring to the main piston for "Easy"?

The machine stopped brewing, I think it may be the o-ring.

Piston driver is not going back into position.

OK, this should be relatively easy.... On the face of it, either there's an O Ring that's leaking or, the Bump stop is not sealing properly. Either way, it won't allow the piston to return to top dead centre. I'd doubt that the driver blade has broken off the piston because you'd possibly hear it moving.

Strip the tool and replace the O Ring on the Piston/driver blade unit and try that. While you've got the unit out, just have a quick look down the cylinder at the bottom is a bump stop this is designed to fail over the years. This is you're "get out of jail" card. (The piston hits the bump stop so that no damage is done to the body), Most folks think that it's the nail that does that... Wrong.... Anyway, if you see little crumbs of what might look like black (Or White) rubber, it's time to change that too..

All in all, the whole process should be over and done in about 10 minutes. Always best to have a cuppa to hand when fettling machines..............

I'm looking at buying a 99 polaris xplorer 300 the

That should be a fairly simple job, if the cylinder wall is not scored. Pulling the head and cylinder is fairly easy and getting the piston off the rod is not hard either. You may want to go with an oversized piston and rings and then have the cylinder machined for that size piston.

Sometimes the pucks do not fall into removable container. How do I fix this?

Make sure the swinging arm at the top of the brew unit moves easily. Check nothing on the brew unit is damaged. Servicing the brew unit might help.

Brew Unit

The transmission can wear out prematurely due to the brew unit becoming stiff. The piston in the brew unit should move smoothly and fairly easily. Keep the brew unit in good service by occasionally removing the piston to clean and re-grease the two big red o-rings using a food-safe grease. To pop the piston out the top, gently remove the plastic u-clip from the base of the shaft underneath, paying attention to which way up it goes for reassembly.

I have the superautomatica saeco vienna machine and am tryi8ng to clean the 2 steel filters of the brew group by unscrewing the pin. I find 1 steel screen but not the second one. Where is it?

Hi, looking down into the brew group you see the bottom filter, looking on the side with the piston (o-ring) you see the second metal filter on the bottom of the piston.

Jammed brewing unit

Remove the brew unit and check the screen under the red o-ring, find the 2 screws above the top piston and make sure the chamber that leads out to the tube is clear.

Hi thanks for the imfo but just cleaned brew unit and greased all

The main board has failed.
This occurs when the brew unit is too tight and not lubed up.
It damages drive components on the main board.

Franke Saphire Coffee Machine when turn keeps coming up with Mulf

This is due to the failure of the brew system, 1, an o ring on the brew piston may have failed
2, the brew unit may have failed - Replacement will be required. 3, the brew motor may have failed - replacement will be required , 4, numbers 2 and 3 ...
The brewer and motor are not really serviceable (labour intesive) replacements are more economical. have to hope its just the O ring!!!!

The grounds are sloshy and the coffee is weak - I think that the coffee is leaking out as the hot water is being pumped through the ground beans

I think I have the answer to this: when mine started doing the same thing, I found that coffee grounds had accumulated and were blocking the seal of the water supply with the brew-group.
The Behind the brew-group is a clear tube with o-rings that slides into the brew group to supply water. One or both of these is clogged with accumulated coffee grounds. Try cleaning out both well.
