SOURCE: kenmore dryer 110-86094110 wont heat. Heating

Hi, Check all the thernostats and the thermal fuse for continuity. They should all show a closed circuit. If any of them are open, it will need replaced. It is usuallly the thermostat on the top side of the element housing.
I hope this helps you. If I can assist you further, please let me know.

Common faults -
1 The heating elements can fail (meaning open circuit)
2 There are cut-outs (T.O.C's) that might need resetting
3 The thermostats (stats) can trip out or burn out (meaning opencircuit)
4 Moderntumble dryers also have sensors and pcb's (Printed circuitboards) thesehave programs that can fail and circuitry although most should produce an errorcode showing you were the fault is.
5 Faultyconnections and burned wires may also be the fault.

Hotpoint oven won't heat above 250 degrees broiler works fine as well as the stove top

either its the oven sensor rod located at the top of the ovens cavity,or your bake element could be getting a hot spot which is when it gets a discolored spot in the element and can no longer pass sufficient current to heat the oven past 250 degrees

Why has my dryer stopped working

Have you checked the heating element to see if it's bad? The easiest way to determine if it's bad is to turn the dryer on without clothes in it and let it run for about 30 seconds and then open the door while its running and if you see a orange glow then your element is fine if not then it's probably bad. If you don't see the orange glow then you'll need to pull it apart and look at the element and if it's bad you should be able to see a break in the metal.
Good luck!

Mer5755qab oven takes an hour to heat to 200

Either your bake element is bad or there is a bad connection going to the element. This is a very high current connection so bad connections are always a possiblity. Also check and make sure your broil element is working as some ovens use it for pre-heat. Do both elements seem about the same temp? You can turn the oven on and carefully hold your hand a few inches from the element to see if they are getting equally hot. If your connections are good to the elements then one of the "calrod" elements is probably bad. You can also check the resistance of each element. Not sure of exact reading but a higher resistance means less current going to the element. Just compare reading on each one and go from there. Good luck!

Heating elements will not heat

If you dryer is running but not heating then you may have one of the following problems.
Make sure you have 220-240 volts to the machine. If one leg of you breaker has kicked you will only be getting 110 volts this will cause the dryer to run and not heat. Simply kick the breaker off and back on to fix.
If you have enough voltage then you may have a bad thermostat, thermostats or heating element. I recommend you take your heating element off and look for broken lines.check continuity if possible. If the heater is good then go to the thermostats. Check continuity. Replace if you find a bad one. Good luck and I hope this helped. mca0824@aol.com

Could be either one.  You can check the element at the switch by checking for resistance on L1 and L2 with an ohm meter.  If it shows resistance then the element is ok, then you would replace the switch.  If it shows open the element is bad.  Make sure the oven is unplugged before removing panels and conducting test.
