When I sign on to Xbox Live, it works fine...however, it will disconnect everytime the phone rings. I have tried to connect it while the phone rings and it doesn't work, but it does work when I try to connect it while someone is talking on the phone after the ringing has endend. I have a new router so i don't feel like that is the problem. Years ago when I tried to add cable to one more room in my house, I was told by Comcast that the cable signal fromt the street was being divided up into too many different locations in the home and the signal strenght was to low. However, when I am logged on, the router connection is perfect. It will disconnect at random times for no known reason, and it disconnects whenever the phone rings.
It is a conflict with your router and modem. If you have a WRT54G linksys router and a Ae60 modem then this conflict will happen. To stop it, buy a new modem or router OR connect to XBox LIVE wirelessly using the XBox 360 wireless adapter ($100).

I was searching the web concerning this problem, and apparently there's a good amount of people dissatisfied with the results from their netgear dgn2000 router when hooked up to Live. You can pick up a pretty good router from Best Buy for under 40 bucks. That sucks that you're ISP and xbox support aren't helping. I usually go past Netgear and shoot for Linksys or D-Link just because I've had good relations with them. Good luck getting back to gaming, man.
I am wired from my modem to my Xbox and it signs me in but everytime I put in a game as soon as it gets to the menu, it says "Disconnected from Xbox Live". I press my Xbox button and go to the dashboard and it signs me back in again. Why is this happening?
When you get to the Market place scroll down with your D-pad and stop on Redeem Code, insert the code info from your new card, select the profile you want to associate it with and that should update your account with your new paid subscription.
The xbox live board is down,so if you pass all tests except the xbox live one,this is the problem.I rang them and they said over 50% of users are having this problem.Its because so many people went on it over Christmas and the system got overloaded.They said they're working on it and it should be up and running in a week or two. ~~PS~~ I rang on the 12-1-08 so it should be up by the 20th,its not your fault,the servers down.
