Turn on computer but get just a black screen
Have you tried a cold start, unplug, remove battery, hold down on/off button for 10 seconds, replace battery, plug in start normally. If that fails re start while tapping F-8 repeatedly until it boots into Boot options. Repeat if necessary. that's a good place to start
I'm sure you made sure there was no media in the machine, no DVD,CD, USB etc. Can you remove the harddrive,Test it with a Adapter, mine is a ULTRA B 2.0 to IDE/SATA Cable Adapter, connect it to another computer and verify it's in working order? The next thing would be to reload the HDD. Do you have a Factory Disk? You could a also search online for a repair OS download and burn it to disk it has repair options.
right now looking for a bios restore for my computer
hard drive looks fine when viewed with an adapter on a different computer. nothing on the screen when viewed in bright light , no "ghost image".
the hard drive will not blink, no image on the screen, cdrom does nothing, power button lights, fan runs, battery charges, but nothing else. i feel acre will need to be called, and money will need to be paid to get this fixed.
Have you tried a System repair disk found online for Windows 7, I think you have 64bit, that's what you specs say. You can try to force the machine to boot from the DVD/CD drive. Question: Can you ,press the Alt and F10 keys repeatedly tapping at pre-boot to enter the recovery option? Have you opened the laptop and re-seated the HDD and memory? A Repair Disk ISO Download can be found here:http://maximumpcguides.com/windows-7/cre... Keep me posted.

I have try cold start does not work. I have no way of getting to the bios. when I turned on computer power light on, and I hear the fan, but all I see is a black screen nothing starts up.
One other thing I have seen in other laptops, If you look at the screen in a bright light can you make out anything on the monitor, the reason I ask is sometimes a tiny switch that shuts off the display when the lid is closed will stick due to dirt or misalignment due to a bump or loose hinge where it's located. Just a thought.
no nothing.
