Question about Tablets & eReaders
I bought a used Gateway Tablet PC running Windows XP Tablet PC Edition (2005) - actually is Windows XP Pro when further looking - I am trying to wipe the HD but I do NOT own any original OS or App&Driver, Recovery Discs. I have instead downloaded Windows XP Tablet Edition torrent and burned the .iso to DVD. I also downloaded RECOVERY11.iso and burned it. System Recovery does NOT work either, as I have tried this also. There seems to be no access to the Gateway Recovery Management program either. I have tried to set the BOOT order to BOOT from both CD/DVD and USB Storage Stick and have been unsuccessful with booting the burned programs from either. (I also made a bootable version of OS Windows XP on a 4GB Flash Drive). Any help and/or instructions on helping me to wipe the HD on this system would be much appreciated! I am a 43 year old Mother of 4 who has been learning and self teaching myself as much as possible regarding computers! As these were not in existence when I was in school! LoL! And I am extremely interested in gaining as much knowledge of the basics when it comes to running, programming and fixing them! I currently own a Dell Desktop, a Gateway Tablet PC, 2 Apple iPads, an iPod and an iPhone! I have taught myself how to Jailbreak/Unlock all iDevices, Root/Flash Android phones and have been studying Windows based PC's now and have come to this Road Block! This is my first time attempting to Wipe a Hard Drive so please, any help or suggestions are extremely and sincerely appreciated! Thank you! :)

Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

@rickyostrom: If the drivers is not present then there would be a pop up to say that the hardware connected is malfunctioning... the user is saying his device is not being recognised... i dont think the usb protocol is the reason of the problem...

you have to go to gateway and download the driver for the SATA controller then save it to floppy or cd then hit F6 durning install then it will ask you for the driver. This Tablet will not see a non-gateway cd if you have the one that came with the tablet then you are good, but if not you will need to do this for the current drive or if yo upgrade to newer drive. Hope this get you started, I had this same problem and I thought it was my motherboard was bad because it would not see the hard drive during installation. This fixed my issue with the drive not being seen during installation of the OS.

you'll have to use a password recovery tool for windows.
Try www.password-changer.com and http://home.eunet.no/pnordahl/ntpasswd/.
