Question about Metra Honda Civic 1996

1 Answer

My 2003 Honda Accord radio will randomly come on, even when the car is parked in my driveway and is turned off and the key/transponder unit in the house. I'd hear the radio suddenly start playing, then turned off all on its own. I sat outside and waited to see it happen again - and found a pattern - when a car on the road approached my house, the radio came on, when the car has passed my house and was 25 feet out of sight, the radio turned back off - this happened repeatedly. Also when drivint around - when near airports, ambulance services, etc the radio will cut in and out (ie turn off and on) by itself. I bought the car used and it only had one key/transponder unit. The key got loose and fell out of the transponder, I glued it back in with gorilla glue. It held for 3-4 months before coming loose again - and I've repeated the gluing process 3 times now. Everything has always worked perfectly - but I am wondering if something about glueing the key back in the tranponder has effected something that relates to the radio. Anyone have any clue????

My 2007 honda accord has igination key problem,i remove the remote and weld a washer to the key. Now the car could not start, please what may be the problem and how will i fix it

Keys are fitted with transponders that are recognised by the car and allow the engine to start. If you have a key without a recognised transponder then even if the key will turn in the lock, the car will not start. You may have possibly damaged or even destroyed the transponder when you welded the washer to the key.

I have seen issues like this on other Honda's and the problem turned out to be the ignition starter switch. Do this, jumper power directly to the starter solenoid trigger wire and see if the engine cranks.

Honda Accord check engine flashes when tapping brakes

Engine light flashing along with the drop on RPMs is indicative of misfires. Connect a scan tool and see if any codes are stored this may give you a starting point. As for the clicking I'm not sure that it is related to the engine light but clicking when braking may be due to worn suspension/steering parts such as control arm bushings

2006 honda accord: key stuck in ACC position. won't turn to O position to remove from ignition. car starts fine and is in park.

The same thing happened to my 2003 Honda Accord...took it to the dealership, and they had to replace my shift lever entirely. Something about the cable between the ignition and shift lever not being read correctly...(basically, my car is not reading that it's actually in park and therefore won't release the key)....

2003 Honda Accord radio keeps on running when engine turned off

Should be covered under a recall. But they are very strict about the exact problem and I got swindled out of 500 bucks. The radio should be replaced as it will turn itself on and off - even the volume! Bit disconnect radio means you disconnect the panel, too.
