Re: Wireless network not working
Make sure that it shows the driver in the Device properties and not a yellow triangle. If that is good then try double clicking on the network icon on the bottom right hand corner of your screen and choose connect to a network, then follow the steps. Is you wireless router set as open/unsecure? If it is secure then you will need the key code to add the other computer.

The wireless feature (Wireless LAN) on an Acer notebook allows you to connect to available networks. This convenience allows you to use the Internet with network cables, modems or network installation. Acer laptops come with a wireless switch to turn the wireless feature on or off. Once you enable the wireless feature, your Acer notebook can connect to wireless networks within range.
Instructions: 1.Locate the Wireless LAN switch located on the front of your Acer Notebook. Move the switch to the right to turn on Wireless connections.
2.Right-click the network icon located on the system tray next to the clock. You should see a list of available wireless networks.
3.Select the network you want to connect to and click "Connect."
First of all, check if the wireless network system properties for Acer Aspire 5030 series laptop are set correctly.Generally speaking,it won't be a hareware problem related to the Wireless device of your laptops,it maybe also the tansfer device for the signals.
Try right-clicking on My Computer, go to Manage, then go into Device Manager. Inside Device Manager's list, do you see any devices with a yellow exclamation point? If not, expand the "Network adapters" section and see what's listed. It's possible that there is no wireless adapter in that laptop (unless you're sure there is one). Another possibility is that the wireless adapter is there, but not functional, faulty, or just plain broken. If the device is there and working, it should show up in Device Manager as an installed device; if it's there, but not working, it'll show up with an exclamation point. If it's not in the list at all, it's probably broken or the laptop doesn't have a wireless card.
1. Determine if your your laptop really has a wireless device? Control Panel -> Network Connections. At least two device should be listed and one of them clearly marked as Wireless. 2. The laptop will have a switch to turn the wireless interface card (WNIC) on and off. Maybe a keyboard control something line Fn+F2, Do you have any icons that look like an antenna? 3. Is wireless turned on by default at the router? Do other devices connect to your wireless router
