I have NN-A773. Door open button doesn't seem to make contact with anything, so door latches cannot engage.

Hi , Either you have a faulty door interlock switch(es), or the door latches (on the door) have been damaged and will not activate the interlocks. either way, you have to be conversant with adjusting microwave latch assemblies once the repair has been effected AND THE USE OF AN OVEN LEAK DETECTOR IS IMPERATIVE for final testing or the end user will be subjected to harmful levels of microwave radiation.

Door catch is stuck in unit so door won't close and microwave won't work

No, the only way is to take it to a technician. The door and catch has about 4 safety interlocks to stop you getting microwaved. The case has security screws only the techs can undo.

Door will not close without slamming

Possible causes - door switch, or door switch assembly out of adjustment; plastic latch guides on door switches worn; door hinge worn, causing door to be out of alignment. If it's the last one, the unit needs to be checked for microwave radiation.

Neff H7871 oven door does not stay closed. Catches do not appear to be working

The door latch is either cracked or broken. The door when gets closed the door latches clicks. But if the door latch is loose or cracked it will not click and door will not close. The door needs to be disassembled and the door latch has to be replaced, if the latch is cracked. Also to check the latch from inside the door needs to be removed.-------- This will help.thanks.Helpmech.

DOOR CATCH NOT CLOSING, FEELS LOOSE. ELECTRONICS STILL WORKING - JUST SHOWS 'PLEASE CLOSE DOOR'. NOT SURE IF WORTH A REPAIR OR BUY NEW.

Most likely it is a mechanical problem with door safety switch. Unplug the unit from power! If you take the cover off, you will be able to determine if switch is defective by using ohm meter. You may be lucky and find a broken door latch or loose switch holder - look for lose plastic parts. !!! Do not attempt to bypass safety switch.

The door wont open. The button works but wont release the latch for he door to open

Door catches.

One of the latches has broken off and is not lifting the other latch clear of the housing. Remove from any power source, remove the cover of the cabinet. Slacken off the clamp mechanism and ease the clamp over the guide to allow the door to open. When a new door lever is in place, the door may be easily adjusted by slackening off the screws that clamp the door catch/actuators in place whilst holding the door closed and then tightening the screws. The rear of the door may be adjusted by slackening the lower door hinge screws and adjusting as required.
I hope that helps.

The latch head (the assembly with the hook-like parts sticking out) also has a spring which secures it to the inner door panel. The inner door panel or latch head has a broken spring mount. To repair this, the door panels will have to be separated. If you or a friend decide to work on it, we have *critical* safety, disassembly, and troubleshooting info at our site, which is linked at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk You can find a helpful exploded view diagram of this model at http://www3.sears.com You can order parts for Sharp models from Tritronics at http://www.wehaveparts.com.
