Machine is stuck in "ventilate". Does anyone know a local repair shop in the San Diego area?

  • DonDuguid Jan 31, 2009

The same. Just descaled and now states "Ventilate" and no steam comes out at all. We have very hard water here, but this is XXX annoying. Please advise as there are NO Saeco service places in Belgium.

I have the exact same problem. The display say Ventilate and there is nothing I could do.

  • DonDuguid Mar 17, 2009

I think we all tried that. NOTHING works once you have this problem. I have emailed Saeco and pointed them to this discussion - perhaps you could all do the same. I miss my great coffee.

Will you kindly enlighten me as to what the cause of this could be? Yesterday I descaled the machine and thoroughly rinsed using the rinse cycle. Looking forward to a delicious coffee this morning only to get the "ventilate" warning on the LCD screen. Last year I paid a shop in LA over $150 to repair. I can't get to LA and I don't really have the money to repair. I am handy and willing to attempt a repair on my own with some good advice.

Press the hot water button on the left and leave it on for a couple of seconds - up to 30 seconds. It is because air has entered the system when changing water...worked for me.

What do you do if the word ventilate appears on the screen?

Ventilate mean to run water through the wand to spin the flow meter.. On some machines you just twist the knob but on higher end machines there is a button on the panel that will dispense water. It depends on your machine.

Saeco, Gaggia, Spidem VENTILATE, Prime what is mean, how to perfrom

Ventilate or priming or else loading all means the filling the machine system full with water, like pump, piping and boiler. This must perform first time of starting up the machine.
It will also appear if the water system in not full of water especially after the steam preparation some steam can be blocked in the system and the machine recognized it by luck in the pressure.
Another reason that ventilate it appears on screen is because air have been insert and blocked in the water system usually from water filter or water softener located in water tank.
So here how you Ventilate or Priming or loading:
Place a container beneath the steam tube.
Turn the knob counter clockwise to start loading the circuit.
Wait until a steady stream of water flows out from the nozzle.
Turn the knob clockwise
to terminate the circuit loading process.
Remove the container. The machine is warming
up; lights are flashing.
Note: You must load the circuit before starting up
the machine for the first time, if it has been inoperative
for a lengthy period or if the water tank has
been completely emptied. The circuit must also be
loaded each time the light flashes

Check the end of the steam nozzle, make sure it is not blocked. If not then with the knob open for hot water cycle push in on the knob if that works then the tap rod assemble or the steam valve needs to be replaced.

VENTILATE appeared on the screen. machine stoped working?

Try open for steam, it could be that there`s an airbubble inside the fluidsystem. Or maybe check the manual if ypu need to empty the system after using the steam, I know some older models has to be ventilated after the steamprocess.
