My son plays oblivion on the PC. After half hour or so the screen shows power saving mode and he has to re boot the computer. Is there a fix to this problem.

SOURCE: Envision L19W761 LCD TV - VGA mode failure.

The resolution or refresh rate of the computer is not compatible with the TV. Before the computer starts loading Windows, start tapping F8 and select "Enable VGA Mode" from the menu that appears, this will set your computer to a very low resolution (640x480). I believe the option is actually called "Enable low resolution video" on Vista, it's VGA mode in XP. Now you should get a picture on the TV, work your way up from there.

SOURCE: Philips 52'' LCD HDTV. Has PC Input Issue.

Hello Terry,

I have the exact same problem that you described. I have tried 3 different HDMI cables. I connected my laptop to another LCD TV and didn't have the issue with that TV. It seems to be something related to the Phillips TV but I am still figuring this out.

Have you solved the issue with the HDMI to HDMI cable from the PC to the TV? My TV is the exact same as yours.

In settings on your computer screen resolution try giving computer a t,v, color profile. I had a similar problem recently that was solved by adding t,v. profile. #1 rite click blank area on computer screen .
#2 select properties or personalize #3 select settings or display then select advanced or add profile, this should enable you to add t,v, screen profile to display settings .hope this helps

hi mylesj880,

Press del. or f8 to boot to Bios there should be an option for you to remove power saving mode. If none then you probably need to update the bios be careful when updating bioses.

Hope it helps. Feel free to ask

When i apply power to my PC, it goes right into power save mode.

At boot up press F8 and boot in Safe Mode. Once booted then go to Start->Control Panel->Power Options. Here you will be able to set it up correctly to not go into power save mode immediately. Save and reboot - normally this time.

Hi,

If there is a switch on your AV cable make sure it's switched over to whatever mode you are using. Sometimes if it's half-way I get no picture.

Inspiron 530S Power Save Mode Loop

First you need to make sure that there are no other removable devices plug on the system, like usb, external hard drives, then if that will work try to go to the bios, press f2 when you see the dell logo, and go to the system setup, go to the boot device configuration and make sure that removable device is not the first boot device, if it is the first one choose hard disk and then second boot device ad cd rom/dvd rom and then disable the 3rd boot and the fourth boot device. Make sure to save the changes. And restart the system again. Once the computer is back and running try to go to support.dell.com and check the bios, download if there is a bios update for the system.

I think your monitor is unstable. Is it showing power saving when you boot your PC? Does it show something when the Windows XP splash appears?
