Oven won't turn off

Hi. My oven has been burning everything and we just figured out it's because its not turning off even when it reaches the adequate temperature - I had to actually disconnect the gas to get it to stop heating when I last turned it on. The broiler and everything else is working fine, though. Any ideas?

I can't tell you where it is located in your oven but there is either a thermistor or thermocouple that has failed so the controller doesn't know when the set temperature is reached.
You may find a complete illustration/parts breakdown at Sears.com, parts dept. They have thousands of models shown in good detail and with  part number references.

I had this with my oven, it just kept getting hotter and hotter. Had to replace the whole control panel. Mine was a Kenmore but I suspect they are similar.

Frigidaire oven -- won't bake, everything else works

Hi, you mentioned the voltage supply appears good, but have you checked the bake element itself for voltage or continuity ? I don't recommend checking ranges while they have power, so you should unplug the unit from the wall. The lower element's (bake) tend to burn out more frequently because they are used more so I'd start by checking it for continuity. Hope that help's. Let me know if you require tips or guidance to check the element and I certainly will try and assist you. **FYI...It should read very little to no resistance with an ohm meter. If it reads infinte, it's time for a new one. Part # 316075104 and retails for about $30.** Thank's for visiting "fixya" amd good luck. Macmarkus :)

Oven won't turn on. It's doing nothing! No click when you turn the handle, no sound of gas, nothing.

Hi

If your range/oven doesn't seem to work at all, check these:
Fuse/circuit breaker Check to see if power is getting to the range/oven. Does anything turn on--even a light? If not, check for a blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker.

Main wiring Often the main wiring connection from the house, at the range/oven, gets burned and so breaks the connection. Then you may have to replace the power cord to the range/oven, and the terminal block that the wire is attached to.

Range/oven wiring There may be a broken or burned wire at the back of the range/oven. If you repair any of the wires, use only proper appliance-grade wire and wire connectors.

Please do rate the solution and revert for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

Oven not heating KitchenAid KERC506HWH3

It could be the sensor. Remove the sensor and check for 1 to 1.1K ohms. at room temp. If that's not the problem it may be the oven solenoid on the burner. You can also have a problem with the door lock making when it shouldn't check that also.

Tappan double oven

I have the digital timer oven and also cannot find the manual. You have to set the bake time timer, I think for 3 hours. Then you set the oven knob on clean and turn on the temp knob, probably to full but I don't think it matters. When you engage the lock, the clean light should come on/ When the oven reaches high temp, the lock light will also be on.
