Question about eMachines M5105 Silver Case Bottom W Covers & Speakers Original Laptop

My eMachines M5105 stalls in the middle when tried to recover windows xp by inserting the 1st cd. When vIwas trying once I could not proceed further by pressing enter key to say ok. I could not also p

I think it is not due to the battery which I am going to replace which needs replacement. some time 5% files copied and another time 15% files copied and then stalled .Please help.

The battery has nothing to do with the installation. It sounds more like you have bad sectors on the hard drive. Scan the disk for errors.

    Sir as suggested by you i managed to scan the disk for errors and i also ticked attempt to recover bad sectors. But when i tried to reinstall os it stopped in the middle and the same problem continue s and now i am not able to move a single step. Screen showing status ok with the onlyoption to press f 12 to boot from net kindly help

i suspected the IDE cable is not properly connected to your hard disk. Check connections and boot up machine normally.

Unable to reinstall windows xp


try it again with the bootable floppy disk... if you have the option use fdisk /mbr and then format the computer and reinstall using the cd you have. the fdisk /mbr command will get rid of any virus residing in your master boot record.

This is probably problem with SATA cable. Try replacing it.

The laptop is in sleep mode. Take the battery out,then plug in the ac then as soon as you do hit the F3 key and wa la   it wakes beck up..

Rebuilding emachine - windows 98SE


A C100 error is a registry error. I suggest that U format the drive and reinstall the 98SE. There are programs (bought) available that may fix this problem, but another perferred choice would be to purchase a XP operating system. Boot up on the XP cd and replace the 98SE with the XP. It's better, faster, prettier and more reliable.
