Question about Dishwashers
You will have to provide the make and the model number of the dishwasher. Generally the pumps are at the base. You will have to disconnect the unit and drag it out on the floor. The access to the pump can be obtained by laying the dishwasher on the side. make sure there are few towels around to avoid flooding the kitchen floor.

METHODS TO REMOVE COVERS ON EACH MODELS ARE DIFFERENT. BASICALLY, REMOVE THE LID FIRST THEN CHOOSE WHICH COVER(S) YOU WISH TO REMOVE. FOLLOW THE PERRIMETER OF THE COVER AND REMOVE ALL THE SCREWS SECURING IT. ONCE SCREWS ARE REMOVED, SLIDE COVER OFF AND INSPECT FAULTY COMPONENT.IF YOU CANT SEEM TO GAIN ACCESS TO THE DESIRED AREA, I SUGGEST A TECH. BECAUSE THE BASE WOULD HAVE TO BE SEPERATED FROM THE BODY CAUSING CAUSING FLOAT SWITCHES ETC TO FALL OUT. NOT FUN IF NEW TO IT.

SOURCE: Water will not drain.
This problem is often due to a blockage in the impeller blades which are located under the filter at the bottom of the dishwasher. Remove the filter and you should be able to get to the impeller by undoing a couple of torx screws. If the impeller has been blocked (this could be by something as small as a grain of uncooked rice), remove the obstruction so the impeller turns freely.

most common faults with dishwashers is a drain fault. Check for any kinked hoses and check the drain spigot under the sink where the drain hose connects into the u bend. Usually this is where food gets trapped due to the spigot not being drilled out large enough. This then causes a blockage. Also check the non return valve under the filter and make sure the drain pump can turn freely.
Hope this helps.
