I would have it checked for virus, for internet speed and lastly defragment it--(in the unit is a feature for this).

I suggest first that you try a free anti virus program,, here are some
free ones
avast
avg
avira
then I would suggest that you get
malwarebytes anti malware
this program is to see if there are any virus's on your pc
any of these programs are free to download and use
I have avg and malwarebytes on my 4 computers.
if you want me to get links for you to make it easier,, then just
send me a comment and I'll get the links for the programs for you
just let me know which anti virus program you want and I'll help
you as much as I can.

Your Computer is Slow — How to Fix It?

A new computer is a thing of beauty. It's fast, it's clean, and everything runs as it should. But as time goes on, that PC that was once so slick and fast now feels like it's trudging through molasses. Programs take forever to start up, and when they finally do, they run slowly.

1. Reboot
2. Scan for Malware and Viruses
3. Check Your Hard Drive
4. Check Running Software

6. Defrag Your Drive
7. Get AOL Computer Checkup

After the latest windows update, all sound is gone from my computer, and intrnet connection is slow as molasses

Possible solutions:

1. Reinstall the drivers for these devices.

2. Do a system restore to a point in time that these devices worked properly and make note of the driver versions installed in case you run into this problem again.

My Vaio is very very slow in starting up after about 5 minutes a window comes up " the application (ISBMgr.exe) can not be initialized 0x0000022", click ok" - after a couple of minutes the same message...

Reinstall your operating system and you will get rid of all these unpleasant malware. Another short term sollution is to enter msconfig and uncheck the programs that are starting with your O.S. To do this press Win Key + R and then type msconfig. Go to the Startup tab and uncheck the programs that aren't necessary. Leave only the O.S. components. But for a safer solution, reinstall your operating system. From what you are saying you could have some viruses and malaware. If you need further assistance, just leave a comment. P.S. Here is a tips & trick that will help you after reinstalling your O.S.: http://www.fixya.com/support/r4213055-quickly_reinstall_operating_system Cheers

If you have defragged the HD and it still runs slow, then you should run msconfig. If you contact me via phone I can walk you though it.

Slow starting Dell Inspiron 2650

The first thing I would look at is hard drive free space. Almost universally, critically slow systems have a hard drive with no free space. What most people don't seem to understand is that Windows requires a minimum of 10% of the hard drive to be free space to allow the operating system room for swap files and other temporary files needed to run the OS efficiently. This can be made worst by the fact that Windows only reports the size of a file on the hard drive, not the amount of space actually allotted to the file (This has to do with cluster size and the fact that only one file is written to any part of a cluster and in this case it is small files that waste a lot of space)

Things you can do.

1. Run disk cleanup, and get rid all temporary files.
2. If you use an email client like Outlook/Outlook express, delete unwanted emails, then empty the deleted items folder.
3. Open Internet Explorer, Tools, Internet Options, delete all cookies and temporaty internet files.
4. Go to add/remove programs in control panel, uninstall any programs or applications you do not use.
5. If you have a large amount of pictures or music files on the system, burn them to CDs or DVDs and free up that space.
6. Go to System Properties, Advanced Tab, performance section, settings button, select Adjust for Best Performance, Click Apply, Click Advanced TAB, Virtual Memory, Change Button, Select System Managed Size, Click Apply close then reboot.
7. Go to MY Computer, right click C:, Click Properties, Tools Tab, Defragment the Hard Drive
8. Adjust power management to Maximum perofrmance.
