You can call HP customer service and ask for a reinstall disc,it's free and takes about 3 days to get to you and your pc will be like you just brought it home, did mine,I got a Dell though.

I am trying to return my computer to factory setting

If you are trying to set your laptop back to it's out of box state, it should have come with windows discs. Sometimes Dell called them the recovery discs. If you boot the PC with these discs in it will take you though the process of reinstalling windows. Be careful! If you do this it will erase all of your data. However, it will take your computer back to day one. If you can't find your discs you can contact Dell for replacements.

Well i am trying to get it to factory settings and it wont let me it asks for my password ,and i forgot it

Insert the gray system disc that came with the unit. Shut the computer down. Start the computer while holding down the C key. Start the installation process, and tell it you want to "erase and install" the system. This will return your machine to factory settings. It will erase all your personal files and data, but that is what "factory settings" means.
