My laptop keeps randomly shutting off.

Try turning it off, then upside down and checking the ventilation ports. My Toshiba will do the same over time if I do not reguraly clean the vents. Also check to see if your fan is working. The worst enemy of most laptops is heat generated but not expelled. Insure that you have adequate ventilation while using it.

Why is a bhd501-d dehumidifier very noisy?. can you give me any ideas on fixing this?

Try pulling the grill off and see if the fan blade is rubbing on something. Check if anything else is loose while you have the cover off..

Samsung NP900X1B-A01FR Ram slot

Most likely you will have to remove the keyboard to access the memory slots. I don't know why they do that. Most manufacturers have an access panel on the bottom for ram.

My new acer laptop is very noisy. The noise comes from the fan, every one minute.

the noise is normal and yes they are loud, make sure that you have adequate ventilation around the exhuast port of the laptop and it may not run as often.

Overheating too fast.

There's a cooling fan on the back. Is it clogged up or otherwise not turning when hot? From Page 21...

Please observe the following cautions for your safety.
■ Make sure the unit is well-ventilated. If the unit has poor ventilation, the temperature inside the unit
may rise and may damage it.
■ Do not obstruct the cooling fan or ventilation holes. If the cooling fan or ventilation holes are covered
with a newspaper or cloth, heat may build up inside the unit and fire may result.

It makes a loud noise , as if the ventilator was stuck

Are you coils dusty? Sounds too simple but they will do that if they are dusty. Also a failing compressor will do the same thing. You should buy or rent a probe and further pinpoint the noise.

That noise is due to your Power-Supply-Unit, Hard-Drive, Optical Drives, other spinning devices, and ventilation fans. You can reduce some of it but not all of it.

For example, your hard-drive could be rather old and producing a lot of noise when it spins up, reads, or writes data. You could replace it with a newer hard-drive which barely makes any noise. The same with your Power Supply Unit (PSU). It could be old and rather noisy. You could buy yourself a newer one such as the ones made by PC Power & Cooling which gets you a quieter product. However that's about it as you DO NOT want to reduce the amount of fans in your system.

Sorry if this was not the solution you were after. However most noise from a computer stems from ventilation fans which can be replaced but should not be removed.

The Display shows VENTILATE

Press the button that looks like a drop of water.
Open the steam dial and place a cup underneath (or just direct it over the drip tray). As soon as you get some water out turn the dial back to off.

That's all you need to do, it should now say ready to use.

The pump is noisy because it doesn't have water in it. Pumps don't like that. The ventilate sequence primes the pump with water.

I just had to do this after a de-calcify cycle.

Samsung av-r610 av receiver. noisy cooling fan. can it be replaced with a quieter/more efficient one?

Hi i have same unit. If you keep the volume anywhere below 31 the fan is not intrusive (you can hear a quiet hum but not a bother) I also give it plent of ventilation ie 1 foot at back and a little less to the sides. The problem is the unit is so slim the fan has to work harder to dissipate the heat build up.
