How to fix iPhone screen when it stops working.

Make sure you try restarting the actual phone by holding down both the lock screen button and the home button. if that doesnt work you'll have to completely restore the phone to remove the bug and use as brand new. DO NOT back up the phone to put everything back on because the bug will go straight back on aswell.

Iphone 4 home button does not always work.

Hey Gary Bain,

Unfortunately there is no recall on the home button, and as either ATT or Apple tell you the phone would have to be sent away to be fixed. There are ways on repairing it yourself, but you are risk of voiding your warranty or making it worse.

Usually the home button can become defective if left in extreme temperatures, whether hot or cold, or if the phone was dropped, left in your pocket too long or sat on. The reason for this is the two contacts that the home button use literally sit in place on the Motherboard of the phone. If these are slipped the home key becomes loose and a solid contact isn't made.

Best options are to go to your local Apple store for a repair (they may just replace it), send it away to AT&T, or unscrewing the bottom, placing a suction cup on top and popping the screen off. Remove the glass/digitizer and the remove and replace the Home button. Screw it all back together and hopefully have a working model. Personally, I'd say let AT&T or Apple handle it.

Good Luck

I think the display screen on my iphone 3g went out. how do i check?

Reset the phone:

To reset iPhone, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least 10 seconds. During this time, a red "power off" slider may appear and the screen may go black, but do not release Sleep/Wake and Home buttons until the Apple logo appears.

If iPhone won't turn on, or the display freezes or doesn't respond

  1. Press and hold the Home button for at least six seconds, until the application you were using quits.
  2. If that doesn't work, turn iPhone off and turn it on again. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on top of iPhone for a 10 seconds until a red slider appears, and then slide the slider. Then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
  3. If that doesn't work, reset iPhone. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears

More resets:

Try This:
1. Remove Sim Card
2. Hold in 'Home' button and 'On/Off' button together until Apple logo appears
3. Replace Sim Card
4. Hold in 'Home' button and 'On/Off' button together until normal phone screen appears.

Also, Try this:
1.) Shut down the iPhone 3G.
2.) Start up iTunes
3.) Hold down HOME button on the iPhone 3G
4.) While keeping the HOME button depressed, plug in the Sync cable
5.) A message will pop up to ask if you want to reset.
6.) Just click YES and the reset process should start.

I opened my settings option and was fooling around with the passcode option when I set my phone down to answer the door. The last thing I remember my phone saying was "new passcode" so I think it...

Plug it into iTunes with it at the unlock screen. Somewhere it should say "Unlock your iPhone" or something like that in iTunes. Click it. Otherwise do a restore by going to the screen where it shows how much memory you have used up in iTunes and click

or:

Download the latest iTunes to your computer and reset the iPhone. Then re-sync it.

I replaced the screen on my cracked iPhone 3G. The phone turned on and worked fine, but the home button was unresponsive. So i took the screen/LCD out to check the connections. The phone turned back on and...

put it on DFU mode. then, try to restore it using iTunes.

I believe that you have a problem w/the home button. maybe it's pressed all the time, so the phone cannot boot.

try dismatling the screen again, and check the home button contacts.

if you think the contacts are not ok, try to replace the home button.

if yo thinks there's no problem with the home buttons, try to enter to DFU mode:

1. turn off and connect the iphone to the USB.
2. press and hold power button for 5 sec
3. press and hold power and home button for 10 sec
4. leave the home button pressed until the computer recognize the iphone as a DFU device.
5. restore with iTunes.

Cheers,
Gery

I cannot connect to YouTube, safari crashes and i have no sound. Everything was ok a few days ago. My iphone is new 2 weeks. I feel like screaming pls help

Hello belito33,

Try this first:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake (on top of the iphone) button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. The phone will turn off. Then, push and hold it again, until the phone comes back on.

If that doesn't work, try this:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. This will do a "hard reset" and should bring your iphone back to life!

If these solutions don't work for you, take your phone back, you have 30 days to return it for a brand new phone.

Best regards,
Bill

3G Iphone froze at Apple Screen, no way to restart it or sync it

I had the similar problem. Found this suggestion on the web to reset iPhone 3G to it's original settings. You may have to restore your media and data files after resetting. It's the only way out for me since I can't get beyond the "Apple Logo" thingy, and I am too lazy to bring it down to the Apple Store.

Try this:
1.) Shut down the iPhone 3G.
2.) Start up iTunes
3.) Hold down HOME button on the iPhone 3G
4.) While keeping the HOME button depressed, plug in the Sync cable
5.) A message will pop up to ask if you want to reset.
6.) Just click YES and the reset process should start.

Good luck.

Simon

IPhone Freeze - Panic: We are hanging here

Hello!

try this simple steps to recover your iphone:

-- Turn off your iPhone by holding the "Sleep/Wake" button for about five seconds and then sliding the red slider.
-- If your iPhone is already off, there's no need to turn it on and then off again.
-- Once it's turned off, press and hold the "Home" button and plug the iPhone into your Mac or PC.
-- Keep holding the "Home" button until you see a yellow triangle and text which says "Please Connect to iTunes".
-- New iPhones will show a dock cable next to the iTunes icon.
-- You can now release the button.

-- Open iTunes (if it's not already open) and you will be told that "iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode".
-- Click "OK" and you will be taken to the iPhone pane. --
-- Click restore and you're done.

Depending on the extent of your iPhone's ills, it may take some time to do a full restore. Once you're done, however, you should again have a perfectly working iPhone.
