How do you reset sunroof in a 2001 Monte Carlo with 3400 model I

check fuse and relay if good than possible motor ot track problem their should be a mechanical bypass that will let you close it if stuck open the following information is courtesy of monte carlo forum
To check the condition of your original sunroof guides:
  1. Gl*** in closed position.
  2. Locate & remove 3 torx bolts on each side of sunroof glass. Lift glass out of sunroof opening & set aside in a safe place.
  3. Locate "J" shaped cover plate at front of sunroof track assembly. Remove 2 torx bolts from each cover plate.
  4. Lift up bracket to remove.
  5. Inspect the plastic guides on each side. The sunroof cables attach to guides on front outer corner. Inspect this area closely for damage.
  6. Do not operate the sunroof with the J plates removed.
Troubleshooting:
If the sunroof guides are not broken & the glass is a uniform height along the rear edge your problem may be a stripped gear inside the motor. The motor has a manual override:
  1. Get access to the motor by removing the map light/switch console or lowering the front of the headliner.
  2. Insert a large standard screwdriver into the nylon bushing at the center of the motor hub. Push up & turn the screwdriver to manually move the sunroof glass. If the unit will fully open & close manually, you most likely only need a replacement motor.

If your sunroof is stuck in the open position follow these steps to get it closed:
  1. Remove the glass.
  2. Try to close the unit without the glass. Many times one side will still be operational and close correctly.
  3. Try to slide the inoperable lift arm forward. If it moves, slide it forward until it stops.
  4. You now need to slide the original plastic guide forward to lower the arm to the closed position. Using a standard screwdriver, push it forward. The lift arm should begin to lower.
  5. If the lift arm will still not fully lower, remove the J plate as explained above, sometimes the sunroof cable will need to be lifted up to allow the guide to fully slide forward.
  6. Reinstall glass.

Bevel gears are worn

Most common repair for this saw
1) remove blade & blade housing guard plate
2) You will find 2 allen head screws holding the elevating screw bracket
This will allow you to move the gears apart to replace
Remove the small retaining ring and slide the gear off (be careful not to lose the woodruff key when you slide the gear off)
Typically we find that the 2 rods (elevating shafts) are bent and this causes the resistance that strips the gears out - I always replace the 2 rods and the elevating screw when replacing the gears - you already have it apart and the parts are inexpensive.

When opening my printer to get to the cartridges, they are stuck inside the printer and won't move. The on/off button is flashing.

Sometimes the ink cartridge carrier won't automatically move to its loading position even when the printer is on and the cover is open. Follow the steps below:

1. Unplug the printer from the power source.

2. With the cover open, hold the solid white strip that connects from the carrier assembly to the ink cartridge carrier and gently slide the cartridge carrier to the center of the printer.

3. Remove the used cartridges.

4. Load the new cartridges. Close the cover.

5. Plug the printer back to the power source.

When I turn the system on the CD Drawer keeps going in and out repeatedly by itself. When I load a CD it won't recognize it and won't play it and keeps going in and out opening and closing by...

Hello

Check all connections, such as from player to amplifier or receiver and receiver to speaker. Check and clean contacts on RCA jacks and cables and try a different input on the amplifier or receiver.

Clean the lens. Use only a special CD lens cleaner and follow the instructions carefully.

Check the traverse assembly (the metal rod that the laser travels along and the gear that drives it) if CDs aren't recognized or won't play, frequent skipping occurs at random, CDs randomly get stuck in one spot, the player can't find tracks correctly, or cleaning the lens doesn't work. Dust and lint may be interrupting its function.

Have the laser-head assembly checked by a repair person if the traverse assembly seems intact and free of debris.Look for broken plastic parts, such as gears and clips, look for loose or broken internal connections.possibly have gears and belts replaced.

I have a Craftsman garage door opener, model# 13953674srt1. It will not open or close the door. The motor sounds normal & runs the entire cycle but the chain is not moving. What is the problem?

Remove the cover from the motor unit and you will find the drive gear is stripped. The part number is 41A2817 and is available at any good door service company.

My mixers motor is running but nothing is turning.. could it have been a power surge or something? because it is only a few yrs old and hasn't been used all that much.

Hi NANETTE_GANG - Generally speaking, a power surge (or spike) wouldn?t affect the mechanical operation of your mixer, although it could possibly harm any internal electronics in your machine, but in this case from the symptoms you've described I don't think your mixer had a power surge. If the motor's running but the mixer blade (agitator) won't turn, then you've had a mechanical failure in the transmission box or planetary gear assembly of your mixer. The good news is that the inspection and troubleshooting of the transmission is a DITY capability, particularly if your mixer is out of warranty. Do you still have the K45SS Parts List? If not, you can download a PDF version from the KA website. Click on Customer Care>Locate Manuals & Guides> Enter the 6 character model number, in your case use K45SSW, and select Parts List (1) (check to see this matches your mixer). Turn to page 4 & 5 titled 'Case, Gearing & Planetary Unit, for the disassembly, troubleshooting, and reassembly of your mixer, along with all the parts. Once apart and with the grease removed you can check for any stripped or broken gear teeth or any other unseemly wear and tear on the gears. When you remove the grease, be sure to keep an eye pealed for metal or plastic pieces. If you find ?junk? in the grease, it will confirm that a gear has broken or stripped. It can be messy but gratifying to find out what failed and then fix it your self. As far as parts go, here are four potential vendors in no particular order: RepairClinic.com; mendingshed.com; searspartsdirect.com; partstore.com. Prices for the same part can vary widely between vendors, so do your comparison shopping. Finally, here's a link to an excellent site that details the disassembly and replacement of a mixer's grease, which might be helpful, too. http://www.foodonthefood.com/food_on_the_food/2009/04/how-to-repair-a-kitchenaid-mixer-yourself.html Good luck and have fun. I hope this helps. Howard, Burke, VA If this solution has helped you, please rate it, thanks!- hslincoln

Stripped gear

Try opening and closing your door by hand with the motor detached (detach it by pulling on the rope) It should open and close easily without a lot of effort. If it catches or is too heavy (possible broken spring) it will strip the gear. The door has to be working properly before you can attach an opener to it. If you lift your door up about waist high and let go of it . It should not go up or down but should stay in that position, This tells you that the springs are correctly adjusted

How to get to mirror and lenses on a pioneer SD-643HD5?

unplug tv. Remove 4 screws from bottom of tv in front right below speakers on right and left side. Bottom panel slides up and out. Don't disconnect just rest panel on front of tv. Remove two screw at bottom of trim strips on each side of screen. Each one of these strips will slide down and remove. Last piece to remove is trim strip at top of screen. There are no screws to remove. The whole piece simply slides to the right about 2" to 3" inches then will unlock from mount brackets. Pull towards you and slide up and off screen. carefully lift screen up and out of bottom brackett. Top trim piece may be a little tight. Just tap on it with the palm of your hand and have somone pull on strip from other side.
