Take video card out, remove the fan, clean it... after that on the bottom side of the fan there is a little cap, remove it and sprey a contact sprey in it... put cap back on, put fan back on VGA, and that shold be it...

Buy a can of computer compressor air used for cleaning out keyboards and blow the dust and dirt out of the fan. If it is clean then it means the bearings are going on the fan itself and is probably not spinning as fast or as freely as it should causing the video card to get hotter than normal due to insufficient air flow. If this is the case you will need to go to a computer store and get a replacement fan for the card. When the bearings are going it usually causes the fans to get loud.

Hi samohtpfeffe, i've been having the exact same problem. if fan making noise because you video card is over heating, or you fan is about to die, if the fan stops spinning and this will cause video card to overheat and damage and system lock up or crash, i recommend you replace video card fan as soon as possible, to solve this broblem.

Good Luck!

My Galaxy NVIDIA Geforce 9600 is making loud whirring sound

You can see if the fan is getting pluged up with dust. Yes I have seen lots of these do that. You can also take the fan off the card and clean it. or replace the fan..If you are having trouble already with gaming it is because the card is getting way to hot..

Card started making loud clicking noise i have tried blowing dust out of it when i start my computer within a few minutes clicking starts again

Hi, couple main reasons to get loud clicking in a computer. First is the hard drive, so if you can turn the system off and disconnect the power and the information cable from the hard drive, yes your computer will not boot all the way back into windows but that is ok since you just want it running for awhile to see if the clicking stops. Next thing would definitely be the fans, any fan in the system, the blade part of the fans can get loose sometimes and start to hit the sides as it spins around, you need to be sure about which part it is that is causing it, it can come from the power supply fan, the case fan, the video card fan, the cpu fan, and you might have more than one case fan, test by disconnecting one at a time just make sure to disconnect the device too so you do not over heat anything. Once you identify which fan just replace it, if its something like power supply or video card, unfortunately you might want to look into either warrantying the part or buying a new one.

The fan in modem makes loud noises at times

Modems don't have fans.
I think you mean your fan in the computer makes a loud noise. Some computers have settings where the fan speeds up if you are doing a lot of things--making the computer work harder.
Some fans make noise just before they fail. Depends on the type of noise. If it's a sound that has a lot of rattling in it or maybe a high screeching sound, I'm thinking you'll be needing a new fan. Probably a CPU fan is the culprit. Also, fans on video cards often go bad--so you'll have to open the case and listen to where the sound comes from.

HP PAVILION ELITE M9340F PC DESKTOP MAKES A LOT OF NOISE (BUZZING

I have the same problem and I found out it was the fan of the video card cause the noise. Ton of users own this computer have the same problem, click the following link and see http://h30434.www3.hp.com/psg/board/message?board.id=HardwareDPC&thread.id=976&view=by_date_ascending&page=1
The hardware problem is cause by the GeForce 9500GS video board that cannot be fixed. If your computer still under warranty, contact HP techniocal support and replace another model or another brand video board, if not,buy another video card and replace it yourself. Remember, don't use the GeForce 9500GS video board, all this video card will have noise problem after a few months.

CPU fan problem

The stock fans that comes with systems are usually fairly poor in construction and tend to fail. I would have a look at the fans and heat sinks on this website for a replacement.

I hope this helps,

Thanks for using FixYa,
