SanDisk Extreme Firewire Reader not recognized by Vista machine

My vista machine is not recoginizing the reader when plugged in. help?

    vista 64 quad with sli cards not seeing Sandisk Extreme FireWire also.
    My duel core vista home does.

    I upgraded my system to Vista 64 and now the SanDisk Firewire CF card reader is not seen. The CF readers blue power light is on but that is it.

    Same problem here, running Vista 64. Blue light is on, drivers are up-to-date, but there's an error listed in Device Manager ("This device cannot start. (Code 10)"). Device works on iMac and MacBook.

    Sandisk Extreme IV firewire compact flash card reader not being seen by Dell notebook windows XP, connecting via cardbus firewire card using 6 pin to 9 pin cable, two Sandisk extreme IV 4GB cf cards have same result. Should there be a blue light on the reader? Help please!

I opened the reader mechanically by unscrewing the two screws beneath the rubber pad in the bottom. I saw that two pins were pushed out of the connector. By carefully pressing them back in again I found that after closing the unit and carefully inserting a CF card it was working again Yipee!!

My computer (desk top) vista does not detect sd card ?

I suspect that your SD card is not formatted with the proper drive letter. See below for adding a drive letter to your SD card.

When you reformat an SD Card, Windows overwrites the drive letter and the operating system cannot recognize the drive without a drive letter. You can add a drive letter to it if you open "Help and Support" and go to the Disk Management and it will describe it. You can also type in the search box "Disk management" and it will take you to the window that allows you to manage your disk, and you can add a drive letter, or format.

I need to know how to use the Sandisk card reader. can u give me instructions?

You should be able to plug the device in. Most operating systems will recognize the device and treat it as new hard drive.

Are you getting a request for a driver? If so, first let Windows look for the driver.

My Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo X2 no longer recognizes my Sandisk Extreme USB 2.0 Memory Card Reader. It's asking me if the hardware provides a MIA device driver

Go into your controll panel and go to Add and remove programs. Once there Look for your software,"Corel paint shop pro x2" You should have an option to change or remove it. We want to change it. If you can change it then tell it to repair and do as prompted. If that option isent avalible simply reinstall the software.

My memory card corrupted by my pc simply because im not safely eject hardware. i accidentally format it now from 1gb turn to can i restore to 1gb pls help me..thanks..

Connect your sandisk to computer thne right click on my computer icon then click on MANAGE then clcik on disk management then you find removable media you see there unpartitioned space of your sandisk .
Just right clcik on it then create partition .
Then check.

I had a problem with a Sandisk Extreme firewire card reader about 2 months ago. After receiving an RMA from Sandisk I returned the unit, and got confirmation that they received it. I never received the...

The next time you call do not wait to be fed B.S. ask for the supervisor.
They may make you hold in the hope that you get fed up of waiting this is normal practice.

If they say that the supervisor is unavailable then tell them you will hold.

When you get the supervisor (and you will eventually)
Ask for his name and ID number and write this down !

Ask to be put through to the head of complaints or an executive office.

You may be lied to again but that is normal practice dont accept the answer if they say they cant. THEY CAN !

Again they may make you go on hold. but persevere

You will eventually get through to a person wh CAN escalate the issue.

Get their name dept etc and write that down too

You really have to try and stay calm even though you may feel like ripping heads off chickens etc.

give them all the story and tell them you will hold while they try sort it out for you (this lets them know you are not going to be fobbed off)

If you dont like the explanation given or if it sounds too much like more B.S. then tell them you consider the answer as unacceptable and INSIST on speaking to someone else (preferably his superior)

It takes time and dogged determination but can and does pay off in many cases.

Overall sandisk quality has dropped quite considerably. The used to be a company that you could rely on for quality.

I am now the proud owner of more than 40 sandisc products that clients have had problems with and were either fobbed off or warranty would not cover. I cant repair any of them but I was thinking of making some form of decorative object from them

If you installed the disc that came with your camera into Vista and it still does not recognize the camera when you plug in your USB cable, one quick solution to get the pictures off of your card would be to purchase a card reader (approx. $20 here in the states). That is assuming that the computer does not have one built in. If it does, open the battery door on the camera with the camera off, and press on the card to eject it, put the microSDHC card into the SD adapter and plug that into your card reader into the SD slot. From there you should be ready to go.
