What Messenger are you using? I'll assume that you are using YAHOO MESSENGER and walk you through the setup. All Messengers and Skype have an Audio & Video setup in them so the camera and microphone work properly with their program.
Bring up Yahoo Messenger and on the top left click on MESSENGER.
Then click on "Messenger Preferences."
Next in Category click on "CALLIN & DEVICES."
When that comes up check and check to see that Microphone is set to your audio card.
Next insure that the speakers are set to you audio card.

Then go to "Test Audio"
In Blue "Open the call setup Assistant"
When the window opens follow the instructions. When finished your camera audio should function properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

My Lifecam VX - 3000 lets me see and hear others but persons being called cannot see or hear me.

Its not your lifecam that is allowing you to see or hear the other person, it basically means that the other persons video and audio equipment is installed properly and yours is not, try downloading the latest version of the life cam software and see if it resolves this problem or if your lifecam software installed correctly there is an update feature run that and it will download a package called icweb.exe or something, install that...hope this helps..

Using Skype with the Logitech Qickcam E1000

Normal 0 Go to "TOOLS", click on "OPTIONS," Then go to "Audio Settings" and click on it. Make sure both the Microphone and Speaker's are correctly chosen. Then "make a free test call." When I place a ?video call? to someone, they can see me but, can?t hear me. I can see them and the audio brakes in and out or gets stuck in a loop. When I simple ?call? their computer (no video), we can...

When I set up my webcam had same problem until I changed the preset audio hookup/setup from the prefilled option to the Lifecam one. You need to click on it & it will appear as a dropdown option, then click on it. The option appears when you go into the audio portion & the words appear asking you to speak until the yellow shows in the bar. I believe the option is just before or after that screen. Good luck.

Both try using windows live and set up audio and video in the settings as you did with Skpe, as it's a similair programme and supports any camera. If that works better then Skype has a problem with your camera makes.
