If shaft corroded then motor bearing are soon to go and if motor was overheating just replace whole unit less hassle

SOURCE: Great Lakes Spa pump. Any way to diagnose outside

If I understand your question, your spa pump will not spin up.

I believe your start capacitor has failed. Remove the back from the motor, you will see the black capacitor on the left hand side. There are several wires coming out of the capacitor. Somewhere on the body is a number. Get a preplacement from a advertiser, your community pool supply company or at

Be careful as you service this electric storage device. Also, make sure you wire the new one exactly like the old one.

I believe this minor service operation will get your pump rolling again.

SOURCE: High speed spa pump shuts off

The motor may have a thermal cutoff if the motor draws too much current. Do you have a sufficient large gauge circuit supplying the motore? If not the actual voltage at the motor may drop, causing it to draw more current to make up for the loss of voltage, thereby tripping the motor's protective breaker. I assume the motor will start again after serveral minutes of cooling down.

SOURCE: my emerson spa circulation pump 1563, model

Is this pump for a 'in ground' body of water or for a fiberglass spa?

Someone MUST make something similar.

If yours is in ground you have many options based upon your filter media and the size of the suction and discharge lines.

If you can give me more information, I can more than lilely answer your question.

Let me know ... I want to help

SOURCE: water works spa pump- need to remove wet end...

Most of these are reverse threaded. There should be a place on the shaft that is flat on 2 sides a 1/2" or 9/16" wrench will fit into the slots. If not look at the back for a place to use a hex key. Hold the wrench/ hex key stationary with the Impeller facing you turn clockwise.
I know this sounds backwards but it should work.
Hope this helps

My Emerson motor model k63cxese 4792. It is making a loud noise. I was told the capacitor might be bad. Does anyone know how to replace the capacitor? Thank you

Capacitors don't make noise. The purpose of a capacitor, is to provide a jumpstart to assist the motor to begin spinning. What makes a pool motor noisy, is bad bearings. At one point or another is possible that your mechanical pump shaft seal had failed, and allow the water to enter the electric motor, and wash away the lubrication in the front bearing.

either replace the bearings or the motor.

Emerson does not make the pump, they only make the motor. You need to find out the manufacturer and model of your pumps volute,(wet end or "plastic part")..., before I can help.

I'm trying to find a seal kit for a Emerson spa pump Model #T55MWCCE-1208

The seals are specific to the Jacuzzi pump housing not to the Emerson motor. Most Jacuzzi pumps use the PS-200 or PS-201 seal (some have it listed as AS-20X) here is a Pump Seal Cross Reference.

Where can i order the impeller (center dish cover) for a emerson 1081 3/4 hp pump

The impellers for the motor depends on the actual brand of pump that the motor is actually bolted up to. Impellers are available anywhere and once you can let us know what the actual model of the pump (should be a Hayward, Jandy, or it may be an off brand) we can not only provide you with the part number, but also a location where to purchase. What is probably happening is that you are searching for the impeller for an emerson, instead of looking for the imepller for the appropriate pump.

Where can I find parts for the old emerson electric motor in my spa? it is an emerson c55cxfby-3475 and I am looking for replacement springs that are for what appears to be a centrifical or heat control...

You're most likely looking at the starting circuit centrifugal switch. It is probably not cost effective to try and repair that motor. Depending on HP and frame, you should be able to buy a new motor for 100.00-200.00. Instead of buying from a pool company, buy from a motor shop or from a place like Main information to have if replacing with different mfg will be HP, RPM, Voltge, and important frame number.

How do I get old motor off pump to install my new motor?

The front of the wet end must be removed to access the impeller. Then remove the rear electrical covering to expose the rear end of the motor shaft. Look closely at the shaft. It has two flat sides. A 12mm open face wrench will fit onto the shaft. Lock the shaft in place with the wrench and unscrew the impeller. The rear housing behind the impeller pops off to reveal four 9/16 bolts. Remove them and the motor is free. Reverse the process with the new motor.

Emerson EB228 pump motor fails to start.

There is no fuse. If the pump is several years old, it is likely frozen. You might try removing the back of the pump cover and inserting a screwdriver into the shaft to turn it by hand. Disconnect electric first. If the shaft turns, it's an electrical problem. If the shaft does not or is hard to turn, rust has frozen the shaft in place and the pump will not run. Buy a new motor.
