Question about Maytag SDE3606A Electric Dryer
My Maytag SDE3606AYW is not tumbling so I have gone about trying to get to the motor and belt to see what the problem is. However I am having problems. I have gotten the small bottom panel off on front of the machine but I can't get the top off. I've unscrewed the two screws from the back and can lift the top off but it is still attached at the front of the machine. How do I get it fully off? Is this the proper way to get to the motor and belt?
If you are talking about the front of the machine, above the SERVICE ACCESS PANEL, then after you remove the screws at the bottom of the FRONT PANEL, pull the panel toward the front and the top of it will pop out. It is in place with small GUIDE SCREWS and a couple of removeable clips.
If your barrel is not tumbling you probably have a broken BELT and it needs to be replaced. Easier to do this from the back I think. It goes all the way around the barrel of the dryer, so you have to put it on the barrel then attach to the IDLER PULLEY and SERVICE BOLT.

Not tumbleing but heats up in every position even after replacing temp switch.
