I want to buy the Hampton Bay fireplace from home depot. It is the Hampton Bay Masonry Electric Insert Fire Place. I wanted to build my own surround for this insert but I am not sure of the danger of it or if it is a fire hazard. I do not want to install it in a masonry fire place. I want to build a fake fire place out of wood and insert into that. Can you please help me verify if it is a hazard ir danger to do that? Thanks

Well what do you expect? Of course it won\'t work you are damaging your stereo with heat from the fireplace. Move it to another place. Oh that does not mean in front of the heater. You have probably melted the heck out of the poor stereo.
we had a similar problem happen with our Hampton Bay Renaissance fan. It turns out that the warranty does not cover this by the way. The lifetime warranty you refer to is only on the fan motor. This is common with most fan manufacturers- just wanted to let you know about this because I think your interpretation of the warranty is wrong.
This fan is really hard to find and so are the parts for it. I would recommend trying to call Home Depot where you bought it or call the Hampton Bay customer support phone number. You're likely going to have to go through one of those mediums. I feel that the second thing (calling technical support for Hampton Bay) will probably connect you to Home Depot too because Hampton Bay is a house brand of Home Depot.
Hampton Bay is a Home Depot product. Many Home Depots carry these replacement shades in stock. If your Home Depot doesn't have this shade in stock they can order one for you. Regards, Joe

Hampton bay is owned by home depot and to the best of my knowledge there are no repair centers for hampton bay fans. That bracket can be purchased (or ordered) from home depot. You could try searching "king of fans" online, they manufacture hampton bay fans for home depot.
I've found that Hampton Bay has it's own light kits, available only from them. The others (generic) aren't the same size. Hampton Bay fans are made exclusively for Home Depot. They are made by a few different manufacturers but only Home Depot sells them. I would have Home Depot customer service get a brochure for you so you can order what you need, if they don't stock it.
There is a a major ceiling fan manufacturer in Fort Lauderdale FL called King of Fans (website: kingoffans.com) that deals strictly with Hampton Bay ceiling fans & parts. They are the Home Depot distributor for Hampton Bay ceiling fans. Their number is 1-800-330-3267. There is also a 1-877-527-0313 number for Hampton Bay products other than ceiling fans...
You can also try ebay for OEM replacement fan remotes for the various brands including Hampton Bay...
