MY bolens lawn tractor won't go forward or reverse
SOURCE: Both forward and reverse speed are decreasing
Hi, check the main drive belt, the belt is stretched out. you need too replace the main drive belt.
If this doesn’t work for you, please write back. Thanks,
SOURCE: shuts down in reverse
I'm not familiar with that particular mower but I'd bet it is a direct switch. Follow the shifter arm down and you should see a arm or button that arm contacts a switch when you put it in reverse. pull the two wires off that switch, put a wire in between to connect them and it is by-passed.

Check to make sure the belt is not broken or did not come off the transaxle pulley, you can check by removing battery from under seat and pulling battery box out to examine top of transaxle,Pay close attention to the wire belt guide on the rh side of the transaxle pulley it should be close to the backside of the belt after it is reinstalled. If you recently may have removed the rear tire make sure the square key on the axle didn't drop out.Is the tractor a hydrostat drive? If so make sure brake is not stuck on,if it was it would make a grinding noise.

sounds like the trnns has some thing lose in it you will need to get to the shop
SOURCE: husqvarna tractor won't go in
if you scroll through many of these posts, you will find that husqvarna make most frequently has a failed transmission. you have to replace the transmission and they are not cheap. if you can find the company which made the tranny, and the model, you can search for "new old stock" transmissions for sale cheap on eBay. the company name will be on the bottom or the top of the transmission. this being a "jelly side down " world you most likely will end up having to remove the transmission to see the top of it. there are only a handful of companies making them.
those mowers are actually made by MTD or AYP. not really a husqvarna product.
