SOURCE: must run choke on all the time with troy bilt gas

First I would check your fuel filter in the tank. They use a sintered type that clogs easily then allows dirt to get into the internal screen in the Zama carb, if the filter is clean and whole I suggest to take the carb out and clean it. Remenber to only use starting fluid to clean the internal parts, as carb cleaner will melt the internal check valves and ruine the carb. Dont be afraid to take the carb apart, its not brain surgery, just start with a nice clean shop cloth and lay it out as you take it apart. The screen I am referring to is on the metering diaphragm side, thats the side with one screw on it

SOURCE: Engine stalls

I'd say the carb is clogged somewhere, probably the main jet. The gas today is terrible. Removal/replacement may be the (only) way to go.

Troy Bilt 3090 snowblower surges off choke, doesnt surge on choke, cleaned the carb, jets, float, drained tank, cleaned fuel filter, fresh gas, still surges. Could it be the governor or idle jet?l

you could try opening up the idle/mixture screw another turn to make the transmission from idle to throttle better
governors just open the throttle butterfly according to the spring tension setting from the throttle lever

Runs ok at low choke then stalls out when choke is moved up

You are having issues with you carb then. If you disassemble the weedeater partly then you will see to screws/adjusters sticking out. The one on the left side is the low idle, and the right side the high idle. You need to adjust the high idle side little by little. I'm talking a 1/4 of a turn at a time until desired results are recieved.

Tb320bv blower, I can set the choke and start it but it will not run. As soon as the choke pops off during acceleration the blower dies.

This would indicate that you need a new diaphram in the carby not very expensive any mower shop will do for about $30

Engine is flooding out and stalling at full throttle. Will only run with choke and seems to be idling high

a few tips to help you along..

Are you mixing oil and fuel together? if not you may be burning out the internals. Oil is added to help lubricate its internal moving parts of the engine.

When the choke is being used you are adding more fuel to air ratio, therefor when hot the air/fuel ratio is more balanced. if its cutting out you 'mix' is in need of feed adjustment to the combustion chamber...or

Your timing is a little off on the combustion to compression peak. Find the manual and see if there are adjustments.

Hope this helps

Blower wont run at full throttle

Start with the spark plug it is the easiest.

But sounds like the carbourator is dirty, Probably fouled with old gas varnish. When it is idling give it a little throttle, flip the choke on and then full throttle. If it goes full throttle and doesn't conk out, it is a fuel issue.

Good Luck
