Question about Lexmark X2500 All-In-One Printer
The computer will allow me to print but the printerwont read the computer. When I press print, the computer has a pop-up window and says that the printer is not connected. It says to reconnect the printer power cable, reconnect the AV cable from the printer to the computer, or restart the printer. I reconnected everything and restarted the printer and computer twice, but it still wont work. Can anyone please help me?
Please try reinstalling the drivers. unplug the printer from the pc, reinstall drivers. restart pc before you plug the printer back in to the pc. after restart, plug printer back in. should work. do you have the install disc for the printer? If you do, and the first fix did not work, plaug the printer into the pc. Put the install disc into disc drive. if the autoplay is running it should ask you if you want to read the files on the disc, just close this window. Then go to START-RUN(type in) DEVMGMT.MSC and find the printer option. expan and right click on the little printer and choose "UPDATE DRIVER" it will then give an option to choose from updating from a specific location or install from a specific location. choose FROM A SPECIFIC LOCATION. another window will pop up with the choice to search from removable media ie floppy, cd etc, etc. choose that option if it hasnt already. It shouls all be automatic from her on out. Good luck.

The Lexmark X2500 all-in-one multifunction printer, discontinued as of May 2011, will not install on Windows Vista or Windows 7 using the installation disc. The installation disc predates the newer editions of the Windows operating system and so you will run into difficulty when trying to install the printer. Lexmark has released up to date drivers on their website. Once you have downloaded the drivers, you can install the printer and begin using the device.
Go to the Lexmark X2500 Support and Downloads page (see Resources).
Click "Drivers and Downloads."
Click the link for either the "64 bit" or the "32 bit" drivers, depending on the version of Windows you are using.
Double-click the file once it has downloaded. Click "Next" throughout the driver setup. Connect and switch on the Lexmark X2500 printer when prompted by the installer. Click "Restart" at the end to restart your computer.
