You will need to remove the two screw covers on the bottom of the shaver. They are on each side of the hole where the cord plugs in. Then remove the two screws to take off the bottom and you can then slide the outer case off the bottom also. You may need to change the position of the lock to get this outer case off.
You will then need to remove the black plastic back of the inner case. It snaps on so you will need to 'unsnap' it. You can then remove the circuit board for easier access to the batteries. Reassemble in reverse.

You can purchase batteries from shaveroutlet.com. See link below

I have 6520. when i plug it into a wall jack i does not charge and does not show power from the wall jack any more. this means when the battery is out it will not work any more. please help

Model 6520: If the green light no longer illuminates when you plug it in, you have waited too long to address the battery problem and the circuit board is now damaged. Replacing the batteries alone will not help as it will still not be able to recharge. To repair, you will need a new circuit board but Braun has discontinued for this model. You will be lucky to find one at this date.

model 5520, 5525, 5550, 6520, 6525 and 6550 are all prone to this problem when you neglect batteries that no longer charge correctly. It is suggested that batteries be changed early on when you notice that they are a problem instead of running your shaver from the cord until it dies.

My Braun shaver model 5520 won't take a charge anymore. When you plug it in, the green light doesn't go on and it won't charge. The shaver is at least 10 years old. Thanks

If the green light no longer comes on when you plug it in, the circuit board is also damaged. The circuit board often gets damaged from continuing to run the shaver directly from the cord after the batteries have gone bad. Prolonged use like this will eventually ruin the circuit board in this model type.

To purchase a new circuit board, which includes batteries pre-installed to it, you can get them from shaveroutlet.com. See link below.

http://shaveroutlet.com/braun-printed-circuit-board-with-batteries-p-106.html

Replacing this is not difficult if you know how to get inside. There are two screw covers on the bottom of the shaver. They are found on each side or the port that the cord plugs into. They can be gently pryed off with the edge of a razor blade. Once removed, you will see screws underneath. Remove screws nd then the outer case of the shaver will slide down and off. You may need to move the travel lock to it's opposite postion for the case to move off freely.
Once the outer case has been removed, you will see that there is an internal cover made of black plastic. It simply unsnaps from 4 points and can be removed. You will then see the circuit board and it can simply be lifted out.
When putting in a new circuit board, you may need to remove a rubber protective coating that covers some of the contact points. Them drop it in place and use instructions above in reverse to reassemble.

Braun electric shaver will not charge.

Your batteries are no longer capable of being recharged and need to be replaced.

If you are handy and can dissemble and solder, you can do this yourself, otherwise, you can send it off to a repair service that will do this for you.

If you wish to do this yourself, you'll have to take the shaver apart. There are two (2) small plastic caps on the bottom of the shaver that can be removed with a small pick or flatbladed screwdriver. Once those are out, you can unscrew the two screws that hold the shaver together and gently pry off the side panels.

This will expose the internal circuit board and the rechargable batteries that need to be unsolded. You can then reinstall NEW rechargable batteries and solder them onto the PCB (printed circuit board). You can also purchase a complete internal PCB with the batteries and everything you need, you just swap out the electronics for the new one, although this costs about $39, while the batteries alone are much less.

Put the shell together and reinstall the retaining screws and caps and you're done.

Here's a link to get the replacement batteries for your shaver. They also do the repair service, if you don't want to do it yourself.

Braun 5520 Shaver Stopped Working

The "Braun 5520" doesn't have the 2 screws under 2 small caps on bottom, as described by so many on these boards.
The round plastic plug receptacle 'itself' is the release. (Twist-Release the outer ring.)
Look on the base, where you plug the AC cord in.... Just inside the rim, you will see two small 'recesses', opposite each other, that allow a wedge tool (like a large screw driver) to turn the rim counter-clockwise (left) 45 degrees, releasing the base and housing.
Once this is unlocked, slide the cover off and pop the black retainer cover off to reveal the "PC Board W/Batteries" module/assembly. (Batteries are NOT replaceable by themselves.)
There is a tiny (and I mean "tiny"!) resistor that burns out in the circuit board and causes the majority of power malfunctions in these models.
You can order a new PC Board (with batteries) for approx. $40.00. (+ S&H)
One place is: "http://www.electricshaverstore.com/get_item_5505631_braun-pc-board-w-batteries.htm".
(Fits Models: 5510, 5515, 5520, 6515, 6520, 6510, 6512 - Types: 5505, 5506, 5705, 5706)

Or, find other by Googling "Braun 5520 Circuit board assembly", and/or replace this model with your number.
