How do I get my motorola gleam phone to answer by opening the flip

To Enable Answer/End Call by flipping open / close the lid you have to enable it in the phone menus. Surprisingly it's not in settings ( where it used to be on older Motorola phones).

Key presses:

  • Menu
  • Select Call center(top left)
  • Call settings (2)
  • Advanced Settings (5)
  • Answer mode (7)
  • Select Cover Answer

My p990i phone the fip is broken and it is remained as if the flip is closed and i cannot use the other functions.......how can i flip open if the flip is broken.....

You need to dismantle the back panel and unscrewing 6 screw using a T6 precision screw driver to be able to release the front panel, but be careful cause the keypad flex connector is attach on the board interface and be careful cause touchscreen and LCD is also connected. On the upper panel, remove the keypad panel by inserting a flat screw driver on each side at the bottom of the front panel.if done, remove the adhesive at the back of the keypad interface and you will see the keypad flex connector,if the parts is still ok,gently remove the flex cause it is fitted by a strong adhesive.the you can replace or if not put an adhesive on a broken part.

good luck....

My Camera Phone cover sensors

There is a small flip type switch on the handset, it is located at the back under the top part of the cover where the camera is... If the flip is broken on the switch it will cause this... You can change the ribbon which contains the switch and it should solve your problems.

Broken flip

all you need to do is take the flip off and try putting the flip on at a different angle, keep trying it and it'll work eventually, cus the little atachment thing is a square so there arent many ways it can be attached!

RAZR V3M thinks it's always open - Screen will not turn off

in the top right corner you are suppose to have a little circular magnet that changes the screen when the phone is open or closed. I just changed my housing yesterday and took the magnet out and put it in my new housing but for some reason i have the same problem as you. so maybe you lost the magnet when you replaced the lcd and if that is the case then you are screwed. try have Motorola fix it, don't tell them you replaced the lcd

LCD has no light neither does outside LCD

Hi Robin I am sure 100% that your LCD Cable has broken. That is the common problem for most Flip cell phones because the LCD cable is connected one side on one end of the flip and the other end to the connector under the board below the keypad. Therefore, several open and close times the flip will cause the cable is broken one day. I has showed it common on most Motorola V-series phones and all other models so your are not an exception. Now, the only solution is purchased the new LCD cable and replace it.. If yo can provide me your phone model, I can send you the link to show you how to disassemble you r phone and how to replace it. I hope my repair list has your phone model. If you can still dial the number and still can receive a call, I can be 100% sure you need to only replace the LCD cable. Email me at joe_dao2003@yahoo.com so I can send you the instruction.
