Question about Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console
I have had my ps3 hooked up for about 2 months at first i had great audio and video through my hdmi cables. Now on certain days its hit or miss. Some days it will work and others it will just give me static. I have tried new cords and switching ports on my tv. Sometimes it fixes it and most of the time it doesn't.
I just bought my PS3 and noticed this exact problem, Go into your audiosettings click hdmi. then go to manual. Uncheck Dolby 5.1. save your settings. This fixed the static for me. Sony should fix thier 5.1 drivers

Try reseting your ps3 to do this atatch the cables that the ps3 came with ps3 off hold down the power button on the system itself see if u get good picture and audio from this cable first then if you do ur connection is ok now hook up your hdmi cable to the tv first then the ps3 then again turn off ps3 and restart it same way it should detect the cable if it dosent your hdmi port on ps3 could be faulty just try to put a game case under the cable to keep it pushed up this should work.
