Question about Singer 7258 Sewing Machine
My Singer Brilliance 6180 stops working and flashes error code E7. I was sewing fleece with stretch stitch w/overlocked edge (3 straight stitches w zigzag overedge). Cleaned out bobbin casing, feed dogs and it still didn't work ... waited 1/2 hour and now it works again....not too thrilled with not having ALL the codes in the manual.

E7 means the machine has 'had enough' and that error flashes to let you know it needs a break. I found that out by trial and error and after phoning Singer as well.

I am kind of confused as to why it will not zig zag, have you tried moving the needle shaft back and forth after oiling your machine? I was looking at your manual online at Singerco.com and it seems like a very nice machine. I also would try a tear away stabilizer, or good old fashioned gift tissure paper, to see if the feed dogs will get some traction. Other than that, I would call singer at 1-800-4singer and ask for some other solutions. I am hoping that it is a free fix.
