Eureka Enviro Vac Model 4470 Not Sucking

My Eureka Enviro Vac 4470 is about 10 years old and has worked perfectly until now. The problem is that it sucks debris into base, but it does not go up the hose. It is stuck at the point where the hose attaches to the base. When I detach the hose from the base and check the suction it is very weak. So if I attach an attachment and try cleaning a corner or something it sucks up nothing. Almost no suction through the hose. Have replaced the bag (of course) and the filter, but still nothing. I have stuck a hanger part way up the hose and there seems to be no blockage. Please help. Thanks.

Re: Eureka Enviro Vac Model 4470 Not Sucking

First, check to see if there is suction without the hose on the base. If not, and there is no blockage, the problem is likely a damaged impeller, the small fan that makes the suction. That will have to be replaced.

Also take apart to expose motor, make sure their is no dust on top of motor, that will cause the problems u r discribing, also like Robert said check Impeller Fan and make sure fan is not blocked and is running freely, hope this helps let us know the out come and what ended up beging wrong.

You didn't specify which model you had, but I assume it's the newer Eureka Enviro Steamer Model 313A.

Here's a link to the owners manual for your Steamer. If you have an older Enviro steamer, please feel free to reply using the comment field below. My unit was working perfectly, then all of a sudden the heating unit quit. It's only two months old. What happened?

It's still covered by warranty, so I suggest taking it to where you got it. If they don't have a warranty station, you can find the nearest one on the below site.

What is the difference between the 2 eureka enviro steamers: the 310 model, and the 313A? are they doing the same job, and which one is a better buy i.e., does the job, and does not cost an arm and a leg...

The Eureka 310 Envirosteamer is no longer made. Eureka discontinued this particular model several years ago. It was a very highly rated steam mop at the time, so Eureka came out with a new model that had a very upgrades which was the Eureka 312, which is also now discontinued. These two old models are discontinued because Eureka has introduced the 313A which is the best model they've made to date. This is the most current, and only upright steam mop that Eureka makes currently, so if you are going to buy a Eureka, the 313A is the one that you want to buy. It's a great steamer I think. We do offer a 60 day full money back guarantee with any purchase, I hope you will consider us when you're ready to go for it.

Please feel free to request a clarification here on Fixya if you have any questions I can answer further for you.

My enviro vac is being stubborn

First , spin the brush roll by hand and see if it spins freely. Then remove it.
CLEAN OUT ANY HAIR OR THREAD UNDER THE CAPS Inspect the end caps , if one is melted you will need to replace the cap if available or the entire brush roll assembly.
The "metal piece" is the motor shaft. Clean any burned rubber of with fine wet dry sand paper, then install a fresh belt, using the brush for leverage to stretch the belt into place. Rotate the brush again to be sure it is not binding and that the belt is not pinched anywhere.
Buy 2 belts and keep your spare inside the hood of the vac.
